As a group, how do we really hope Jalen Hurts plays this season?

I'm most certain all of us here have nothing but fond memories of Jalen Hurts and we wish him the best, but just how much of "the best"? I'd figure we hope he's all world, but fall just short of taking a Heisman away from Tua or anyone else, and we'd wouldn't really want him to beat Bama in any potential playoff game.
What are your feelings about Jalen in 2019?

We better hope he doesn't play better than Tua. He goes to OU and lights it up, and Saban and the staff look like they don't know what they're doing.

Yeah, because the Big 12 is known for their stellar defense...

That being said, I hope he leads them to an undefeated regular season. Would love to play Oklahoma again in the playoffs. He deserves a great season and I hope he gets it.

I hope he plays well. What he did in that 2018 SECCG will always get my respect

It won't be viewed that way nationally and you know it. They are already building up the Jalen at OU situation as a get back at Bama.

I hope he plays well and has a good year. I guess I just feel like I know exactly who Jalen is as a player and there is no part of me that is insecure or scared that we made the wrong "choice", if you know what I mean.

I'm happy for Jalen, but I feel great about what we have. Hope he has a great year - with zero conditions attached.

Can't emphasize how little I am concerned about this.

Not interested in facing OU in the playoffs if we make it there. Not going to be a good look nationally when everyone in the media paints us as the bad guy for "not believing in him".

I wish him the best and hope he plays well but I am not sure he will be the starter at the of the season. He fills the need in a spot that had no depth until due to the backups being a RS freshman and a true freshman. The true freshman Spencer Rattler many believe he will be the #2 and due to lack of defense in their league will get plenty of reps. I think Riley will do everything he can to get Rattle game experience as worse case will be the starter next year but he coming out of HS is considered better then Murray or Mayfield and if Hurts struggle this could easily be a Trevor Lawrence situation.

I don't really care what people say. I think Jalen is going to have a lot of success and he deserves it.

I just don't want him to beat Alabama for obvious reasons, but wish him nothing but the best for everything up to that point.

The guy who beat him out set the NCAA Passing Efficiency record last season and finished #2 in the Heisman race a year after coming off the bench, supplanting him and winning the national title game.

So, yea, I won't be sweating anything that Dan Wolken writes if Jalen has a great year. I'll be happy for Jalen.

This is a dumb take. Lincoln Riley is a freaking QB genius. He not only knows how to coach to their strengths, he knows how to make them better. He's taken two transfers who couldn't start at other schools and turned them into Heisman winners and two of the most exciting QB's in the NFL.

Saban is the GOAT head coach, but he can't do that for a QB. Kiffin is the only coach we've ever had who could come close as a QB whisperer.

I hope Jalen has a monster year, but finishes 2nd in the Heisman voting to Tua.

Jalen Hurts is an Alabama legend. I hope he dominates the Big 12 and leads them to a playoff run.

I have absolutely no desire to play OU while Jalen is there. Obviously won't ever cheer for them and can't bring myself to cheer against Hurts. Would be a completely joyless experience.

I hope Oklahoma falls flat on their butts. Therefore that means Jalen will not be having a great year. I'm sorry folks, I can't hope for anything good for the Okies.

I hope he has enough growth and success to get drafted. Also, if Tua doesn't win the Heisman trophy, I hope Jalen does.
