Parents Of College Texas A&M Cheerleader File $1 Million Lawsuit

The parents of 19-year-old Texas A&M cheerleader Brianna Aguilera, who was found dead in Austin, Texas during rivalry weekend, have filed a $1 million lawsuit. The Austin Police Department suggested that Aguilera took her own life, though the cheerleader’s mother strongly disagreed...

Now, the parents of the cheerleader have filed a $1 million lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed against Austin Blacks Rugby Club and the University of Texas’ Latin Economics and Business Association. The seven-figure lawsuit accuses the two school organizations of allegedly serving their daughter alcohol before her death.

The lawsuit alleges that Aguilera was served her first drink around 6 p.m. She was allegedly continued to be served drinks for several hours, before stumbling away. Aguilera ended up at an apartment where she was supposed to spend the night. Ultimately, she fell to her death around midnight.

“We believe even more today this was not a suicide as has been suggested by police. This was either an accident or something much more sinister,” Tony Buzbee, lead attorney with the Buzbee Law Firm, who is representing Aguilera’s parents, said at a press conference.

He added: “If the police department will not do its job, then we will do it for them.”

She called her boyfriend and said she was going to jump. She pushed away her friends who tried to stop her. And she wrote a suicide note weeks earlier. It was a suicide. What a frivolous lawsuit. Pretty girl but obviously too emotional

I bet that 100% this was not started by the parents but by....Tony Buzbee, lead attorney with the Buzbee Law Firm. When bad things happen you can count on some POS lawyer to swoop in and exploit folks who are emotionally fragile. It always leads to a lawsuit for some huge amount where the lawyer gets something like 25-40% of any verdict. You don't hate lawyers enough!

Did they get depositions from the other people sharing her room with her? Did they do a toxicology on her blood for legal medication she may have been using, that when combined with alcohol is a big no-no? Why not sue the Doctors and the pharmaceutical companies? Could you sue the real estate company for not providing a ground floor apartment to an obviously inebriated individual? This is conjecture (Opinion or judgment based on inconclusive or incomplete evidence; guesswork).

On the other hand is providing alcohol to a minor. Fraternities have been found liable in many cases.

I'm of the age when the legal age was 18. Spent many a time kneeling at the porcelain throne or pouring water over the napes of those who imbibed a bit too much.

I hate this. It's a tragedy for her family. As crass as it may sound, she should have some guilt ( The fact of being responsible for the commission of an offense; moral culpability).

I hate that she died.
