Kirby has never been a great game manager. He is a good recruiter who is good at getting the best out of his team and creating motivation. But he has always struggled with game management. His teams were just so damn stacked it wasn't an issue the two years he won the Championship.

Oh sure, sure, sure. Nuss did not come back for the money. "Nuss was only given that deal when he chose to comeback to LSU after 2024." LSU told Nuss, "Thanks for coming back. You know what? We got this extra $3.6 million sitting over here in a couple of boxes taking up space. Would you please help us get rid of these boxes?"

You're taking what I said out of context. I was saying he wasn't given that deal in 2021 or 2022 when he could have transferred. He was given that deal to come back to College instead of going pro. Jesus you like to twist words around.

Because NO ONE was offering him more money than LSU. Where was he going to go?

This is completely incorrect. But believe what you will.

I'm not bashing the professional athlete.

I'm just not placing him on a pedestal for sticking with the employer who offered the most money.

No one is putting him on a pedestal. Its respecting that he stayed at LSU for 5 years in an era where that doesn't happen. And again, you can think he only stuck around LSU for the $ but its factually incorrect. That is mischaracterizing the situation and player. Move on.
What I understood we offered the same amount of $ but the gf got an NIL deal above average as well.

But I assume you are talking about earning one during the season. The coaching staffs simply have to do a better job of evaluating kickers during recruiting season.

Correct. Teams used to take 3-4 walk-on kickers and the one who turned out to be the best would earn a scholarship. That doesn't look like it will be the case to happen anymore.
Honestly, if Chambliss balls out again in the Semi-Finals win or lose he should just enter his name in the draft. This would be the draft to enter with no clear cut number 1 QB.
yeah there will be no more walk-ons which is weird but it will be interesting to see how that works out. A lot of kickers used to earn their scholarship that way.
quote:

Yeah, the "walk-ons" deal is tricky. I seem to remember that as an offset to the increase of roster to 105, there will be no more walk-ons. If a player wears a football jersey, he will have a scholarship. That is the way I remember the change.

Pretty much. There will be no more walk-ons. Which will be interesting to see how that works out.
Trust the process. Lane will get the players and field a productive offense. He always has.

Actually it is what makes a professional athlete!

Just move along.
Just wait for it all to play itself out. Trust the process.

Too early to get concerned. Let it play out. We have ample time. Trust the process. It will work itself out.
Take Ole Miss out of it. I dislike Ole Miss and their fanbase as much as anyone but the players are not doing anything to deserve not getting the best chance and that is what LK is doing by allowing the Coaches to Coach the semi-final. it has nothing to do with the program but the players. I can respect that.

Just trust the process. Still plenty of time.
quote:

Don't be naive. He was paid to play college football at LSU. Ergo, he is a professional athlete.

That is not what makes a professional athlete. LSU is not a professional organization.

quote:

What a crock.

Nussmeier was paid between $3.6 million and $4 million, placing him in the top-ten of highest paid college athletes.

Of course he didn't transfer to chase money. No one else but LSU was going to pay him that much.

Nuss was only given that deal when he chose to comeback to LSU after 2024. He chose not to transfer after 2021 & 2022 when he would have been given deals.

Again, in a world where everyone complains about no loyalty and players transferring every year I find it very funny when you bash the kid that stayed for 5 seasons. LSU fans complain about other fan bases but the fact of the matter is LSU fans are some of the worst toward their own and its disappointing.

Just not sure that he ends up here.
Calm down. Nothing that is happening is going to make that big of a difference to us in the long run. Trust the process.

Trust the process.
LMFAO

Give it a few seasons. Louisiana players are still being recruited to LSU out of HS. You will see plenty of Louisiana guys but if you are getting players in the portal you get the best player not just searching for Louisiana guys.

The crazy part is everyone agrees but I hear nothing at all about a plan to change it. There is no one in charge and the prisoners are running the asylum.

Can't put anyone in charge. NCAA too scared to make any rules or regulations after the Government stepped in twice. So, here we are. This is the beginning of the end. There is nothing the sport can do to salvage it.
