I worked at Dicks Sporting Goods in college about 20 years ago. We had this girl Whitney who worked in shoes. I worked in another department and everyday it seemed I had customers coming up to my dept telling me they couldn’t find anyone back in shoes to help them. So I’d page Whitney constantly. Eventually she’d hear the page and emerge from the back.

Well about 2 years later me and another buddy that had worked there were talking after we both had quit. And he tells me that he found out the reason Whitney was never where she was supposed to be was that she was banging the Shoes manager during store hours. And then it started to make sense. So that’s my most brazen story of cheating bc the manager was married with a young child and Whitney was like 20.

#1. Kelly McGillis is listed at 5’10. Cruise is 5’7. However, in the scene where both are in the elevator, the camera makes it appear Cruise is far taller. Then in the scene where she chases him down driving her car, he’s again shown looking down at her. What was he standing on?

Was this guy just that good of actor that directors overlook his height, or are they confident enough in doing different camera angles they can make leading woman opposing him appear smaller in relation to him?

Remind me of UConn with Clingan the way they shut off the paint. I don’t see any team beating them this year. Great coach with the best combination of talent.

How exactly is the PE firm going to get a return on this investment? When the sports media rights bubble busts there’s no other way to make your money back.

Not the same thing at all.

A comedian doing a tour is no different than a rock band doing a tour. Rock Bands don’t have “phone free” events. They let the person who bought a ticket use their phone to capture memories/photos/performances. And seeing a clip of that uploaded to YouTube doesn’t detract from future shows. The audience knows what the musician is going to play before they even get a ticket. But they go for the performer. To experience the live performance.

I’ll never buy a ticket to a “phone free event”. If you suck that much as a performer that you can’t connect to each audience in an individual authentic way then I don’t wanna see your act.
“Phone free” just means “I regurgitate everything each show word for word”.

People in comedy are the most paranoid people on earth. If you are great, people will show up to see even your greatest most overly done bits. If you suck, they won’t regardless of how hard you to try to hide your own content.

And it’s pretty easy for an audience member, who bought a ticket, to avoid spoilers in advance by simply not watching clips of bits posted on social media. But to not even give people a chance to take a picture with their phone is an absolute joke. I’ll never support these paranoid losers

And the reason they do it is 100% trying to not let their material get out. Has nothing to do with interruptions. I’m talking about arenas that seat 8,000 people being “phone free” events, not the 30 person comedy club
