According to a report, “dozens” of college football players have already made a mistake with their NCAA Transfer Portal decisions...
quote:

Josh Pate reports that dozens of college football players who entered the NCAA’s Transfer Portal have already tried to return to school, only to find out that their spots have been filled.

“Talking to GMs this morning – dozens of examples of players in the Portal asking if they can return to the team only to discover their spot has been filled,” he reported.

“These are mostly NOT players who were forced into the Portal but rather players who listened to terrible advice from jackals posing as agents.

“Countless examples of players being told entering the Portal is a sound business decision with zero risk since the fallback option is your current roster spot.

Exactly. I’d give a shite if these were still mostly amateurs who just got bad advice from a relative without any other input. That happened and it sucked. They’re still young men who aren’t fully matured in decision making, but if you’re making terrible decisions with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line and a wealth of resources beyond just “unc” to make an informed decision, hard to feel bad when you frick up that hard.

Mistake or not, I respect their decisions.

Education is not one of them. Chasing a buck and already receiving NIL. looking for that rainbow and they are not that good of players. They will not have anything. Their job is gone. They are going to get an education alright

I'm all in favor of NIL and the portal, but decisions have consequences. It is just part of life.

Nil, sure. Portal, total disaster. Cannot support the chaos of the portal.

Maybe one day they'll realize that some of these agents aren't looking out for their best interest. They have other people thst they represent. They don't care if player 122 makes a bad decision, they have another player to fill that spot they just transferred from.

Bless their little hearts. Now they can go find a job and forget all the “free” shite they got once upon a time.

When you let money do the talking you will run into problems like this. I hate that NIL is allowing some of these young athletes to get taken advantage of, but those are the consequences of past stupid decisions from the top down.

I have no sympathy for these athletes who leave thinking the grass is always greener on the other team.

Going to suck paying for that free bachelor's degree.

The same can be said by those who enters their name into the draft without signing an agent. After testing the waters they may want to come back but finding out their spot has been filled.

We need to get rid of the idea of "student athletes." I bet if I took the entire roster of Miami, I would bet that 35% of them could not walk their schedule.

"Miami's roster"... if you listen to how they speak, it's neither English nor Spanish, it's jury-rigged talk.

They enter to get more money, then find out its less. I should feel sorry for them?

Exactly. Unless you are a proven 4 or 5 star caliber player and know you will be picked up and paid very handsomely by any of the teams that are desperate to have you, you are taking a huge risk by entering the portal.

Nope
It’s in the rules. Agents and players have no excuse and will not feel anything toward anyone who entered on their own volition.
