According to a report, “dozens” of college football players have already made a mistake with their NCAA Transfer Portal decisions...
quote:

Josh Pate reports that dozens of college football players who entered the NCAA’s Transfer Portal have already tried to return to school, only to find out that their spots have been filled.

“Talking to GMs this morning – dozens of examples of players in the Portal asking if they can return to the team only to discover their spot has been filled,” he reported.

“These are mostly NOT players who were forced into the Portal but rather players who listened to terrible advice from jackals posing as agents.

“Countless examples of players being told entering the Portal is a sound business decision with zero risk since the fallback option is your current roster spot.

Nope
It’s in the rules. Agents and players have no excuse and will not feel anything toward anyone who entered on their own volition.

This is the way. This is how you fight the greed. They bounce to the portal, fill their spot. They can EAD.

To quote the great George Spelvin from Archer: " It is exactly fair. You made a choice. And just like every other choice every other human being has ever made... ...it has a consequence."

There’s always division 2 and 3. Zero sympathy for people who enter the portal just because with no real plan.

I realize agents are jackals but what does an agent or even someone 'posing' as an agent have to gain from steering some kid into the portal just for him to end up nowhere?

He might be steering someone else who pays more into the vacated slot. Or he could be getting competition out of the way for a guy he thinks will ultimately be worth more. Lose a little by convincing one of your lesser guys to go into the portal in order to set up a bigger payday from one of your better guys.

How much you want to bet these are small time players? Any decent player will find a spot. Also, why be vague and say they wanted back and not if those guys still had other options? My other thought is that several of these people can go to other places, they just wanted to come back and they said no.

Some make millions but more lose everything including a free college education. Great system we have.

If you want to paid like a professional and forfeit amateurism, then there are consequences and repercussions. Adulthood is tough, which is why there is a place of preparation to help you adults transition to the harsh realities of the workforce. If only these guys had a safe place to do that after HS......................

We need to get rid of the idea of "student athletes." I bet if I took the entire roster of Miami, I would bet that 35% of them could not walk their schedule.

"Miami's roster"... if you listen to how they speak, it's neither English nor Spanish, it's jury-rigged talk.
