You can’t honestly believe that?

He doesn’t. He just likes to inflame other fan bases.
Either that or he is truly stupid
First time I’ve actually read the article. It’s funny and disturbing at the same time:

quote:

The phallus was *erected* in the SAC by Campbell in 2016 at the height of the Cocks Not Glocks protest. The protest involved students openly brandishing dildos, an action prohibited by Texas *Penal* code, to challenge the Campus Carry law passed that year allowing licensed gun owners to carry firearms into university facilities.

I might be reading too much into the choice of words by the author because of my juvenile sense of humor

quote:

The 11-inch phallus, dubbed “Big Boy” by the manufacturer, sits under a spotlight next to an explanation of the display written by Campbell. An advertisement from the manufacturer, Doc Johnson, is pasted on the wall behind it.

I mean, how can this NOT be funny? Although, if mine was 11 inches, I’d name it “Big Boy” and have it under a spotlight too

quote:

Campbell purchased the toy in the color “Gunmetal Grey,” developed the display and pitched the idea to the department in a mass email to see if they would approve the display.

So, he purchased the “gunmetal grey” (sure it is) “toy” THEN pitched the idea to the department without knowing whether they would approve the display or not? Sure sounds like it was either too big or he had gotten bored of it

quote:

The phallus) does a really good job in creating a bit of discomfort

I bet it does

LSU football - “What did you give up for Lent?”

LSU basketball - “Winning”

Yup. His dad played DL for them IIRC

Would you trade basketball success now for 5 years of mediocrity in football like Florida has?

That’s a false choice. Why not both?

After all, Florida has won both the football and basketball titles in the same year before.
Don’t know if you’re being sarcastic, but I couldn’t find it posted on here
As the first ever LSU basketball general manager. He’s been a longtime NBA executive.

I have not been a CMM fan. I’ve called for his firing. I haven’t been impressed by his coaching, personality, or personnel decisions. But, this with the assistant coaching hire from Indiana, actually has me hopeful.

I don’t know if this is what it takes, but, for McMahon, this looks like a step in the right direction.

We should get V Miller, Chest and Jefferson to round out the team.

Whelp, two of three are out for sure. Chest to Ole Miss and V Miller to Okie St. Jefferson isn’t even in the portal and is just a rumor

the ON3 valuation is meaningless

Maybe so. But 3 million is still ridiculous for one player if that player isn’t a sure thing, as I stated.

You still have to keep the players you retain happy. You have to pay new players to replace the ones you lost. And if those players are supposed to be better than the ones you lose, then you have to pay more for them..

15 players. He still has 4 spots to fill, and I’m sure that those will come with high price tags

3 mil is nuts. Even 2.1 is crazy.

According to On3, only the top five players in the portal are commanding around 2 million. The top player is 2.3 million. IF this is true, then either LSU is grossly overpaying or On3’s valuation is WAY off.

Personally, I have a hard time believing anyone would pay 3 million for anyone that isn’t a sure thing

will just admit that there are no more excuses from here on, and that this next season is kind of “it

I, and I think most on here, on here am skeptical about MM’s chances of turning this around. Mostly because there are no benchmarks anyone can point to as acceptable.

Some say “make the tournament.” Others say “win a game in the tournament.” And on and on it goes. I’ve seen, and I’m afraid I will see again, that some (Woodward in particular) will “move the goalposts,” as to what is acceptable progress.

Is it a better overall record? SEC record? Make the tournament? What? We are all agreed that the current state of the basketball program is not acceptable, but what constitutes acceptable? That needs to be made clear.

If the last few years aren’t enough, then what is?
Fast? Have you been following this saga?

Why not? You gonna cry about that too?
quote:

when Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas were spending over $8 million for their rosters, and the mid range for roster spending in the SEC in basketball this year was $5 million, and LSU only spent $1.5 million on theirs, what do you expect??

I assure you UF didn’t spend 8 million on there basketball roster. We barely spent that on the football roster. Whoever is feeding you those figures is full of shite. At least for UF.

That’s what many of us have pointed out on tRant. But, they believe it despite evidence and logic.
It’s just a convenient excuse so Woodward didn’t have to admit his hiring mistake. Especially when Wade was still available at McNeese and he was still fresh in the fans’ minds.
