This situation is not going to make this kid a fan favorite if he ends up in Athens. I read something today that made me grin, "Buford probably had more 5 stars on their team than Nebraska, and he still couldn't win a state title."

Who would vote today after all the news came out that they would be OK with Kirby standing up and saying, "You know what kid, go to Nebraska, we are pulling our offer". Call his bluff.

Raiola played well in Buford.

But he isn't a finished product (as evidenced by his senior year).
He needs to be developed.

He can do that in Lincoln. Or Columbus, OH. Or Athens, GA.

Or he can try it a year somewhere and then transfer out again.

I don’t care if he comes or not. If the rumors swirling about what’s happening behind the scenes are true then he doesn’t fit the Kirby model anyways.

I pulled up some videos of Puglisi's highlights. He looks bigger than DR, even though they are listed about the same height and weight and to my non-expert eyes, the hype over his big arm is for real. He's got a canon. He chunks it 50-60 yds effortlessly and can line-drive it 20-30 with no arch whatsoever. Got big, broad shoulders. He'll be a pro-style guy like Beck, but man, if we can get some WRs cranked out with some speed that can get downfield, he'll be able to get the ball to em.
After watching that, I was feeling alot better about all this.

Puglisi goes to a really good school that has top tier academics and athletics.

Disagree

You want to compare Justin Fields junior year to Jake Fromm's junior year?

Are you high?

Look at the guys who've been most successful recently. They've all overcome real adversity and/or fought for their spot. Of the highly ranked guys who have had on field success in terms of winning, every single one of went to schools with established starters, and none started game 1 as freshmen.

It's simple logic. Winning programs have depth, and they continue to win because they get the best players and foster the most competitive cultures. If you want to win, you have to compete. Period.

If Dylan really is heading elsewhere because of ego or because he doesn't want the adversity, I'd feel a lot worse about his prospects of being the guy.

4 MM may be a bargain when this year’s carousel stops spinning.

Hell, I saw a report (not sure how true it is) that tOSU may be offering 25 MM to keep Marvin Harrison Jr.

That’s absurd money for ANY player, but frankly clinically retarded to offer to a non-QB.

We may look back and wish we had paid Carson 4 MM to stay.

McCord no longer going to Nebraska. They’re taking Raiola and starting him.

So, my question is where is all the money coming from and how long before it dries up because the suppliers realize they are getting played by 18 year olds and there is no return on their investment.

That's the inexplicable part. There's no binding aspect of NIL. Everyone wants to compare how the coaches can change gigs with no consequences and try to equate that to the players' situations but there's contracts in force for the coaches.

It's set up this way because conferences and schools have minimal hope of ever winning a lawsuit and even less desire to pay players out of their own money.

Here's the irony: In order to address this either schools have to break NIL rules or collectives have to break anti-trust laws. This catch-22 is why any change will be very difficult, and none of us should hold our breaths.
