This sounds very Jefferson-esque... In fact, it sounds so much like Jefferson that one has to wonder.

Well that's all that really matters at the moment. Netori, Wilson, and Thomas are running with the 3's. The guys that are going to play for us in the first half of the season (most likely) are guys that couldn't beat out the bums we ran out there last year.

I read that as well and that's very concerning.

Everybody needs to relax. Word is Chaney did a lot of soul searching in the off-season.

Looks like he did a lot of soul food eating as well.

Seems to me that, whenever you have a young QB, a suspect O-line, and a new system, you try and keep things fairly simple in year one of a coordinator's tenure. Look at Matt Ryan's progression. I think we should still run a fairly simple and balanced O and get Eason some good stats in order to build his confidence. I'd use our tight ends early and often. When our O-line starts to gel, open up the playbook.

I couldn't begin to take this to the levels he does.

I'm not a Chaney fan but with an improved OL he definitely has the other tools to build a good offense.

Yall are stating that we should be crazy not to think players who have never played a down of college football, will be light years ahead of 3 Senoirs who had years of starts between them and numerous accolades.

That's the whole point of college football: putting stratospheric expectations on people with no track record precisely because they have no track record.

Players proved their worth by making rosters. We will see how worthy these 3 are soon enough.

they don't just let anyone in an NFL camp... especially 3 players from a "pouros" O-line... they just don't waste the time or money with them.

They need numbers to run a preseason NFL camp properly. They don't just not sign anyone just because there aren't enough good ones.

Pretty sure he was asking about talent, and they are lights years ahead talent wise. Doesn't mean they will play up to their talent level as true freshmen though.

After being ignored most of last season I'm surprised they all didn't transfer out.

How many times did you see the color announcer (Gary Danielson) point this out last year... at least twice a game....

"Wow, Jacob Eason had ReceiverX wide open down field, that's a touch down, but he threw to the dump off like he already had his mind made up"

If Eason hits those guys, the defense can't continue stacking the box and playing the run.

Suddenly, the O-Line looks a whole lot better when they only have to block 5 guys instead of 8.

Chubb was fully capable of getting back up to 8 ypc.

Eason is the center of this offense. He has to get better. He has the power to make this O-Line legendary.

Maybe a couple times last year, and we arent even sure who the 1st option was when that occurred. I remember one specifically vs Vandy, which was a 15 yard completion to Nauta, and then Stanley appeared open behind him. I remember another one that may have been vs Tech when he targeted the FB and then Chigbu appeared wide open behind him. Its not like those guys would have caught the passes anyways, right? The OL needs to give Eason the proper time to make the proper reads, and the WR's have to catch the balls too.

Stanley and Chigbu couldn't catch the clap from a hooker in Thailand so Eason probably made the right decision in those cases.

So Chaney leaves Pitt and their offense improves by over 10pts a game. Has this guy ever done anything other than...as pointed out by announcers of every UGA game "he has worked with great qbs like Drew Brees".

The plays that I remember were when Chubb was in the flat with nobody within 20 yds....waving his arms....and Eason was looking downfield trying to force one into double coverage.

Exactly, this is what scares me. Chaney is basically the unknown bassist who happens to get lucky and play in a great rock band with a generational talent.

If Chaney was in Nirvana, he'd be Kris Novoselic and Drew Brees would be Cobain.

Just like Novoselic, Chaney's career revolves around working with a superior talent and has been riding the coattails ever since.

They were worthy the moment NFL teams paid them money to come to camp. If you think otherwise, you are ignoring facts to grasp to a stupid point.

I have seen enough subpar UGA players be invited to camps to know being invited to camps isnt evidence of a player having NFL talent or having proven themselves as good SEC players. Reggie Davis in the Falcons camp alone proves my point, but maybe you can explain what makes him so worthy.
