Front seven is looking way better these last two classes. Now if we could just get CB straightened out

Cooper just took out Muhammad.

A&M insiders are still not optimistic, despite the LSU and UGA sources predicting Evans to A&M.

This shite is so off the rails
quote:
UPDATE: I still believe Georgia is going to let him out of his NLI. I don't believe there will be a penalty that won't let others recruit him. However, I do believe he can only sign one NLI.
So basically what that means is that, if Georgia lets him out as expected, he cannot sign anywhere else. Last year, we saw the same thing happen with Bru McCoy (though slightly different since attended classes) and he didn't sign with Texas before enrolling. However, he also enrolled at Texas in January, so that meant that he could not have signed anyway since the Early Signing Period was done.
This is going to come down to whether Evans did well enough on the ACT he took during the state semifinals in order to be qualified to enroll this semester somewhere. If not, that means he will still have to work on becoming eligible this spring, despite having graduated. It would also mean that he does not sign anywhere in February, since he can't sign a second NLI.
What would then happen is, regardless of what he announces before then, nothing would be official and there would be no closure until he showed up somewhere and enrolled for classes in the summer/fall. However, even though he wouldn't sign an NLI, he would be on scholarship and would still go toward the 25-man initial counter limit.
As for where he ends up, I think both A&M and LSU are in play. But, I don't believe LSU has a ton of confidence now. They are also going very heavily after Jahmyr Gibbs. Other schools could come into play - and Evans' interview during the UA All-American Bowl was trying to show other schools he was regretful of the decisions that led to his suspensions. So, I don't think this is just going to be limited to A&M and LSU. However, out of the schools he has considered so far, A&M is the one likely to go after him the hardest.
Basically, unless he finds out his eligible and enrolls at A&M when classes start a week from tomorrow, this could get even crazier over the next several months.

So basically everyone’s favorite recruitment could last all the way to the summer
He’s a game changer at a major position of need so I want him, but my god.

My understanding has always been you can only sign one LOI and if you get out of one you can go elsewhere immediately but can’t be on scholarship until the next year, but apparently you can just show up and be on full scholarship.

It's happened before. There was no intraweb around to tell the sordid details back then. I had a first row seat in the Eric Dickerson recruitment. Until a brand new gold Trans Am miracles itself out of the sky in front of Evans' house I consider this mild.

Think he’s headed to College Station. We took a risk on George Pickens because it was a position of need and it worked out well for us.
Would make sense for y’all to do the same thing here IMO.

Based on what you or your insiders know, was this more of a qualification issue or a “not worth it” thing?
With another top RB already signed, I imagine at some point Kirby just said “frick this headache”.

Think we’ll find out more as the weeks come along.
I thought he was worth it. He’s so freaking talented. But with 4 other really good RBs on the roster, I get it.
Think the Pickens risks were a little different because it was somewhat minimal from a disciplinary standpoint, and more focused on grades, but it was still a risk. If it works out, it’s worth it. A&M is in a place I think y’all should take one on Evans.
