Elko is putting together an insane class. Between Marcel and whoever follows him, it appears we're going to be quality QB play away from a top team for the foreseeable future.

Earley did enough to get another year, but man he drove things off the rails very quickly. Tough job ahead now that pretty much everything from the championship-level program he took over is gone.

Agreed. I’m not sure you want that many five stars anyway. They disrupt team dynamics. I remember Fisher’s last class. You need them in strategic spots but the saying about too many cooks applies …
A team full of 5 stars is the easiest path to winning hardware. Pretty much every school that has recruited that well has won a title or 3
Jimbo was just an absolute loser of a coach by the time the 2022 class signed

Signing G-league players to play CBB is weird as hell, but I guess if that's the rule you'd be foolish to not take advantage

Can Earley make it 3 for 3?

Both Klein and Marcel stunk it up to end each of the last two years. I guess it's easier to blame Klein, though, since we're stuck with Marcel.

Im glad we're doing everything we can to run the same offense next year instead of using the OC opening to try to get a whole lot better

My simple heuristic on coaching hires: how would I feel if Texas hired someone similar?
And in this case, I would love if Sark hired a DC counterpart (the most important position on a staff with an offensive HC) with zero experience managing a defense and everything that comes with it - play calling, in-game adjustments, mid-season adjustments, growth and expansion of the scheme over the offseason
Elko was able to navigate a poor DC, he likely won't have the same ability to navigate even an average OC, so I am not a fan of going with a comfort hire over shaking every tree in the forest to find the best coordinator possible.

And congrats to the poster who got mad that Travis Brown thought KC deserved more preseason hype

Maybe it works out, but I don't like A&M operating a learn-on-the-job situation.

Luicci has hinted that it will probably be Wiggins, but that's not certain.
Elko having all that money to play with, and ending up with Wiggins and Bateman as his coordinators would be pretty terrible
