Im glad we're doing everything we can to run the same offense next year instead of using the OC opening to try to get a whole lot better

My simple heuristic on coaching hires: how would I feel if Texas hired someone similar?

And in this case, I would love if Sark hired a DC counterpart (the most important position on a staff with an offensive HC) with zero experience managing a defense and everything that comes with it - play calling, in-game adjustments, mid-season adjustments, growth and expansion of the scheme over the offseason

Elko was able to navigate a poor DC, he likely won't have the same ability to navigate even an average OC, so I am not a fan of going with a comfort hire over shaking every tree in the forest to find the best coordinator possible.
And congrats to the poster who got mad that Travis Brown thought KC deserved more preseason hype

Congrats to both guys for great years.

AP article
Maybe it works out, but I don't like A&M operating a learn-on-the-job situation.

Luicci has hinted that it will probably be Wiggins, but that's not certain.

Elko having all that money to play with, and ending up with Wiggins and Bateman as his coordinators would be pretty terrible
Could be on the move to Kansas St :O

Yeah I don't give a single frick about what TV slot we're given

Give me the easiest path possible to the semis and then hope for the best

Reed has got to stop panicking in the pocket and throwing wild passes. He’s done it all year and really has gotten away with a few but last night it was crucial. 2 terrible interceptions
Fortunately you’ve got a couple weeks now to get right and prepare.

2 years in the system and he still looks uncomfortable as hell in the pocket
Our fanbase seems pathologically unable to enjoy anything. Too many losers that only feel comfortable complaining or whining

Are we going to see another injury report later in the week, or is that it?

Daily updates are required by SEC rules, so if something changes, we should see it reflected in the injury report

That’s not what I remember reading this morning but great news if true

Craver was not listed on the injury report I linked yesterday

what is anthony hills (texas) status?

He's currently listed as questionable.

Moss and Scooby are listed as doubtful

Moss plays when he's near 100%, conference championship or not.

There will be some rust to knock off but as soon as he is ready he goes, no sooner/later.

Yeah these guys only get so many chances to suit up, and coaching staffs are out there to win every single game they can. Healthy scratches are probably super rare, especially in big games with championships and legacies on the line.

Elko was pretty pessimistic about Moss's chances to play against Texas, which is a shame because it would be cool to see him have a moment similar to Cyrus Gray in 2010, but I think our offense is still potent enough to win.

I’m optimistic about our young men’s chances

They have certainly given us reason to be optimistic. No moment has been too big for them so far, which should serve them well on Fridaym

What are you talking about?

This wording in the OP ("Billy Liucci is reporting that Elko’s new deal will be for an additional six years at $11.5 million per year.") makes it sound like he's on a new 10 yr contract (4 remaining + "additional 6"), but reading a different article indicates he just has a new 6 yr contract (2026-2031).

If we're keeping it at/around 6 years, disregard.

Wild how quickly we unlearned the lesson Jimbo taught us about handing out 10 yr contracts

Seems like a great opportunity to let Morrow go to work.

I'd love for Morrow to get 20 carries and see what he's capable of

I wish they had the stones to sit all the starters to send a message to the SEC that the seccg is meaningless

Why can't we experience a little moment of success without getting extremely weird?
Hard to verify who said what, since this board decided to start deleting threads in a weird attempt to goose metrics
