Is Fran getting a fair shake if he beats t.u. at the end of the 2007 season and we fire him?

It's fair to fire him because there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that A&M isn't having success. Second to none facilities, the state of Texas recruiting for goodness sakes, a hell of a student fan base (don't leave at half like LSU), great alumni- think about A&M deserves better - demand it - LSU fans do - once you taste a national championship that's all you are satisfied with - and that should be your end goal - not 8-9 wins and a decent bowl - who gives a rats arse about that - Sumlin needs to be shown the door and A&M go after somebody who is a young fireball or throw money at a proven winner - not talking about Chad Morris the typical "good Ag" safe hire

Auburn 2013
Mizzu 2014
LSU 2014
Auburn 2015
MSU 2016
OM 2016
LSU 2016
KSU 2016
UCLA 2017
All games that Kevin Sumlin had NO BUSINESS LOSING. He couldnt beat two LSU teams in Kyle Field that had completely quit and laid down for the year.
And this isnt even factoring in losses in which the manner was inexcusable, such as LSU 2013, Bama 2014, OM in 2015 and MSU this year.
And the bottom line, possibly more than anything else, is that he CANNOT CONSISTENTLY BEAT P5 TEAMS AT HOME. Fanbases will tolerate losing on the road for a long time, but you cannot continue to year after year send the home crowd out with embarrassing losses to any team with a pulse. Kevin Sumlin has sucked the life out of Kyle Field and gamedays are just a boring run through the motions.

I think one of Sumlin's biggest flaws is recruiting. That swag copter is dumb, hit the road in an old beat up Volkswagen if you have too. Just recruit. How does Patterson at TCU have success with those players around DFW, and Sumlin can't do the same with players around Houston? Coaching...

I'd add:
UF 2012
LSU 2012
Bama 2013
a good coach would have won those games and a National championship in 2012. We had the greatest QB in A&M history! And one of the greatest receivers.

If he finishes the year 2-0 I think we give him another year. Anything less and he is gone. My opinion.
The grass isn’t always greener and we have been to a bowl game every year he has been here.

If you believe Texags, the wheels are already in motion. Liucci even stated in his weekly review definitively that Sumlin won't be around to see through any hope generated by an end of the year run.

This is the first time I've seen him say "When the job opens up" every time he answers a question instead of "IF******" Interesting times for sure I regretfully re-subscribed for the fireworks.

The biggest issue with Sumlin's recruiting is that he targets so many WRs and ignores other spots. Chavis has pulled in some good LBs. But Sumlin either can't recruit other positions or he just chooses not to. Either way, that's a failure.

Paying for "early access" is like pre ordering a game. To quote South Park: "All it gets you is a dick in the mouth."

and...
he hates Lucci and ridicules him constantly but seems to be able to quote him and know exactly what Lucci is thinking about anything at any time. Obsession is very real.

He won't win the next two. In fact he won't win the next one. 6 years of sad results, 30 million dollars for mediocrity. Fire him already.

You almost have to at this pointy if you want to improve for the future, way too many top jobs open right now, 2017 is proving to be an agents wet dream.
Letting the traffic clear, ID your target, get the deal ironed out offline, and replace Sumlin end of 2018 is the prudent move here.
