re: Oil price chart: Dec 18 to today..

Just simply explain the below in relation to your statement cause just recently the tRumpkins were all in for higher oil prices, now yall are crying for getting what you asked for, it boggles the mind.
quote:
Oil prices skyrocketed on Thursday after President Donald Trump told CNBC Saudis and Russia will ease pressure on oil, ending a price war that has contributed to crude’s massive plunge.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures surged 24.67% to settle at $25.32 per barrel, for its largest single-day percentage gain in history. Given WTI’s 59% decline this year a smaller gain, of course, now accounts for a much larger percentage move. International benchmark Brent crude jumped 17.8%, or $4.40, to trade at $29.14 per barrel.
Trump told CNBC’s Joe Kernen Thursday that he spoke to President Putin yesterday and Saudi Crown Prince Thursday and expects them to announce an oil production cut of 10 million barrels and could be up to 15 million.
The president later tweeted that a production cut would be “great for the oil & gas industry!” His comments came before a meeting with energy industry executives scheduled for Friday.

Nice cherry pick, go back to May and it was actually negative 35, did Trump cause that astronomical price rise or is oil a globally traded commodity and POTUS has very little effect on the price?

My friend you assume far too much and are woefully ignorant on this topic.
What I am referring to has nothing to do with bussing and occurred in the 80's not the 60's.

Maybe I don't remember something from my first eight years of life as clearly as I should. Maybe my parents lied to me to keep from having to take me to the movies. But after Civil Rights protests started downtown, we didn't get to go to a movie until they opened the theater by mall right over the bridge. Is this the one being discussed?
Ether you are misremembering a great deal or you lived with your parents one long assed time.
For quite a while the Ritz and Clark were closed and Tracetown was the option prior to mall construction.

I don't think that they're automatic and the issue was the time between the power shut off and generators coming on line. If we had been warned, I'm sure that a lot of the prep could have been done so the time lag wouldn't have been nearly as bad. I don't believe that you just turn on generators of this size. All the water drained out of the system in that time lag, and they can't rebuild pressure b/c everyone still has their faucets open (like I said earlier, it's a Tragedy of the Commons situation in real time).
More likely tBoy had his head up his arse and did not do his job.
How often do you suppose water system admins get a heads up a power failure is immanent?

What? you are FOS
They closed decades prior to the mall opening, the "other" theatre remained open a long time after the mall opened in Tracetown.

The International Paper plant closing, followed by several other facilities is not okay to talk about?
Those are minor contributing factors, the largest single one was the destruction of the school system by the justice dept.

Uhh, it is at capacity thus the reason they wanted a new pipeline in the first place.
Keep going please, you have to get something right at some point.

The China part of your argument is laughably ignorant. The Chinese do not want the Keystone pipeline. They want that oil to go to thee eat coast of Canada and then ship to China.
2 big holes in your wackjob theory.
1) There is no mechanism to get the oil to the east coast of Canada or this would all be a moot point.
2) Look at a map and rethink China wanting oil delivered on Canada's east coast, look real hard and think about it again.
China does not want to load oil in Canada period for a multitude of reasons.

Te primary beneficiaries of the XL are China and Canada, why would the Dakotas wish to get involved?
This is issue # 1,987,345,765 where the vast majority should STFU until they bother to get the facts themselves rather than their political masters.
If you proposed this pipeline today you would get laughed at as it is not needed, these companies just want what they can get of their money back at this point.

Regarding thought exercises; has there been any discussion of hooking up the Texas grid to either the eastern or western grid so that electricity can be imported to Texas in times of severe need?
Simply put it is only independent politically to keep the Bubba's believing they are special but in reality is interconnected to the main grid and always has been, problem is there is no spare capacity in the grid right now.

Actually now that I have had a chance to ponder a bit on this it is apparently the DNC's fault this cold wave has hit in the first place, after all they shut down the nations largest source of hot air in November.

No simpleton, you dont get it at all, I accept consequences as a cost of doing business and dont cowardly try to lay blame elsewhere when things go wrong. If you want cheap power 99.9% of the time then be prepared to handle the consequences when things get off the rails.
Its called being an adult, you and the rest of the tRumpkins should try it.

Blah blah blah, he is FOS
Bottom line, private companies do not like to carry spare capacity just in case you need it as that is expensive and financial decisions based on this led to a shortfall.
This is the downside to deregulation and a "free market", it is what it is.
