The UGA fans remember coming to Columbia the 2nd week of the season for the CBS 3:30 kick every other season.

According to the announcers the field temperature in Indiana was 152 degrees. And they kept repeating it.

In D2, #2 Harding vs Northwestern Oklahoma State stopped the game with 13 minutes left to go last Thursday after a player had a heat stroke. It was 104 degrees and the game was 76-0

Kentucky game wasn’t as hot, but was a good 92 with heat index of 97. We had a sec game official pass out on the field, stopping play, in the 2nd quarter. Heat is no joke and it’s not just about the players.

Clemson and SC State did that a few years back in an early season matchup.

UGA did it a few years ago against an FCS team in the opener.

At kickoff in Baton Rouge tonight at about 7 pm, current forecast is for 85 degrees and 96 percent humidity.

Steamroom-like at best.

Edit: oops, fixed humidity forecast from 86 to 96 percent.

I was born in Kansas, grew up in Tennessee and currently live in the Low Country of SC. At least Charleston gets the sea breeze. I don’t know why Columbia is a natural heat sink, but that air is hot AND heavy. My neighbor went to the game and told me that the concourse was like a military triage unit. People getting treated right and left.

It’s cause Columbia sits in a bowl shaped valley that traps heat

I was there and it was pretty fricking brutal. Not saying they should have shortened it but I wasn't mad about it.

In baseball, it's called the 10 run rule. Hope this helps.

One of the hottest days of my life. The Cockaboose was cool though.
