Vandy refused to let LSU wear white at home in 96? DiNardo was coach and LSU wore gold jersey and won 35-0.

As an LSU fan, I agree.

Going white/purple/white helps

Says the guy who's team dressed up like Boston College, hoping it would help change their identity.

Wow. I thought that got changed. Is this the current rule?

That is the current rule, but the SEC has an agreement between teams that the visiting team will oblige by the home team's desires.

Both Vanderbilt and Miss State have made LSU wear purple in the recent past.

I was at that game with my daughter and we wore white as most LSU fans did, then she wound up years later going to Vandy.

First time I ever saw LSU wear purple jerseys was the orange bowl. Nebraska as Big 8 champs got to choose what they wore and they wore white jerseys. Jan 1 1983.

That’s rich coming from a school whose football team and bands uniforms look stuck in the Great Depression. God y’all are such a shite fanbase. I’m so happy your season is dog shite, you, as in Rodo, really deserve it.

Aggies wore glow in the dark uniforms and helmets for a day game.

Not for me at home or away.

I get that gold on white is tradition but it doesn’t look at good as purple on gold.

But I’m Gen X the kidz do not think it is Fiya.

Home team chooses. Auburn probably wouldn't, but they could choose to wear white jerseys at home just to mess with LSU. Seems like a few years back somebody did that.

Vanderbilt did it after LSU hired DiNardio away.

No, that looks too plain.

I like the fact that LSU is so easily identified by its gold and white combo.

Having to get the ok from your guest is the dumbest part of this rule.

No and it’s happened multiple times over the years. Spurrier did it twice at Florida in 1998 and 2000 (LSU wore gold in the 98 game). GA Tech did it in a bowl game in 2000. State did it in 2007 and 2009. Spurrier did it again at USC in 2015 but the game moved to BR due to flooding in SC (LSU still wore purple jerseys as the “road” team). Vandy did it in 2019
