You are aware you basically said some people that were drunk while texting and driving didn't die in a car crash, and some people that weren't drunk and texting did? Right? Statistics and probabilities aren't definite, but your chances for survival are much better if you follow them (franchise qb or drunk while texting and driving)

the scores aren't indicative to any degree of the possible success of an nfl qb ... anyone who thinks there's a link between intelligence/decision making on the test and intelligence/decision making on the field is an idiot ...

reading an nfl defense isn't brain surgery ... it requires intrinsic mental ability to some degree, but it mainly requires a strong/accurate arm and experience, and on occasion, fast feet ...

Wonderlic scores for 2018 QBs
Josh Allen: 37
Josh Rosen: 29
Sam Darnold: 28
Baker Mayfield: 25
Lamar Jackson: 13

Well, since Marino scored a 13, I would be most apt to choose Jackson.

I suppose you didn't review the score range for the QBs I listed?

Really? These are the all time NFL QB rating leaders. How many sub 25 scores do you see on this list? (I've looked up the Wonderlic scores and added them in bold, for those of you who are too stupid to think they don't matter)

Only a fricking moron thinks they aren't a solid indicator of the ability to play quarterback. Yes, that's 19 championships in the last 35 superbowls, dumbfricks.

So many clueless people in this thread.

Rank Player Rate Years Tm
1 Aaron Rodgers 103.8 2005-2017 gnb 35

4 Tony Romo 97.1 2004-2016 dal 37

20 Daunte Culpeppe 87.8 1999-2009 4TM 18

ETA - I'm adding the data from the posts below for the next time some idiot says the Wonderlic isn't relevant.

-13 of the last 20 NFL mvp's are on this list. The only other QB winner was Cam Newton with a respectable 21.

-No QB with a reliably reported score of less than 21 has won the Superbowl in 39 years.

Oh, and that's 13 of the last 20 AP NFL MVP's, for anyone who's still stupid enough to think the test is not an indicator.

The only other QB to win the MVP in that period was Cam Newton with a not-too-bad 21. So, even though QB's almost always win this award, no QB with less than a 21 has won the MVP in 34 years.

I’m surprised the players association allows the scores to be leaked. Seems unfair in a way

How? They let you know which players run a fast or slow 40. Why not let you know which ones have have optimal/suboptimal intellect?

Yes, I'm still googling stats.

No QB with a reliably released score under 21 has won a Superbowl in 39 years (I've seen one source that Phil Simms scored 10, but no others), and only Joe Montana was as low as 21.

Bradshaw was the last, and those days are long gone.

I have no idea what correlation exists, and don't care enough to research, but the glaring fallacy of referring to it as a 'link' is a classic and egregious example of begging the question, not to mention the very real possibility that the test is administered for reasons other than a direct determination of how a QB will do.

I got a feeling that a structured 15 minute conversation with one of them would field about the same conclusion.

It's ridiculous how dumb their statements are, given that the correlation between a high score and success at the QB position is indisputable.

I'm betting most of them would post a score below Lamar Jackson.

To sum up this thread: Dumb people don't think intelligence tests have any bearing. Smart people understand the importance of intelligence tests.

I just scored a 41 on a sample one online...the time is definitely the thing that kills you. I would have done better without the time pressure. I think I had only answered 20 by the time half of the time was gone. A few I knew would take to long I just wrote an answer for the hell of it. Missed answering the last question by like a second.
