Calling him an idiot is internet hyperbole, but seriously, frick him.
He had a path to victory and chose the wrong path.
I honestly don't know if he wanted the path to victory. He was always torn on state rights and the conservation of the union through Constitutional means.

The vast majority of Democrats are terribly dumb.

Lee was an idiot. He had a huge advantage from a military POV and couldn't leverage it. Thankfully
Do tell about his huge advantages, very curious.

No commanding general had more men killed off from his ranks in the Civil War than that of Robert Edward Lee.
Well no shite, he was the commanding general of the Confederacy the entire time.

Imagine what Robert E Lee could have done with Grants resources and manpower.

re: City vs Country Living
Posted by AUsteriskPride on 7/25/20 at 10:21 am
Country living for sure. I don't want to be stacked on top of people, much more autonomy living on a piece of land, have the ability to hear nothing but crickets chirping, can grow my own food, almost always lower taxes, and much less likely to be the victim of violent crime.
Not a fan of eating out constantly, can visit museums and other draws of big cities and leave.
Definitely prefer a piece of land with few neighbors.

One fought to liberate themselves from tyranny, the others fought to have the right to own other humans as property. Small difference there.
Yeah, no. Most didn't fight for the Confederacy over their love of slavery as over 95% didn't own any, it was their love for a Republic and state rights, and the desire to not have a concentrated Federal government.

Why does it make u mad that the school you love wants people treated equally?
I just don't get it. It isn't whether or not there is systematic racism or not. It's the fact that they believe that people should be treated equally .
Why would u want to represent a school that doesn't want that.
LOL
BLM isn't the organization you should hitch your horse to if that's the goal.
re: What's your COVID risk score?
Posted by AUsteriskPride on 7/23/20 at 9:17 pm
Funny, I don't see violent protests on that list, but I definitely see attending a church service as being almost highest risk.

Got the family out of Albuquerque two weeks ago. Best decision ever.
re: Have you ever seen a dead body or watch someone die?

Several last gasps during traffic accidents. I'm extra cautious on the road because of those times.

I actually agree. Life is so easy comparatively we've created an even harder life mentally to compensate.
re: What is the "cheapest" thing you have done?
Posted by AUsteriskPride on 7/21/20 at 3:08 pm
Worked at my uncle's BBQ joint in high school with several friends. It was on a city line, so I got to co-mingle with girls at the other school, very much a profit.
By far the lowest paying job I ever had, but by far the best. There were a lot of "perks" in that job.

Yep, Covid isn't going anywhere, along with the flu, cold, croup, etc. If this is the route we're taking over this virus, football and all sense of normalcy is over with for the foreseeable future. Even then, people are still going to be programmed differently.
Wish I would have known last year would be the last normal one, I would have enjoyed it more.

Yeah, but we were concentrating everyone into a few places.
They don't want to hear that. A few stores, nothing more than giant germ pools from the higher than normal traffic.

agree. You can get a brand new little Honda for $20k and easily keep for 10 years and put 200k miles on it
But what would the neighbors or the OT say? OMG
