40 years ago Austin was the recruiting advantage. It’s been in decline ever since. 11 years ago after Mac it was a break even. Today, Austin is a complete libtard shithole. It’s football facilities are old. It’s stadium a relic from the 80s. Baylor has a better record than Texas over the last ten years.

Not scared.

They almost certainly aren't scared of Texas, who will quickly become the end of the year game for them. They are probably a bit leery of Oklahoma because the Okies can actually compete in the SEC. Not be dominant mind you, but compete.

The thing I'm not looking forward to is their arrogance and destructiveness. They will find a way to frick up and destroy the SEC. The league needs to be prepared and have some ironclad legal contracts in place or the conference won't exist in 10 years.
it’s funny how texas is like the evil empire in all aggies minds and they feel so defenseless against Texas and all of our nefarious ways

For not being scared, y’all sure do sound like a bunch of frightened pussies with this sentiment

Relax - we’re not interested in your sheep or male cheerleaders. There will still be plenty of them to go around after we join the sec

Not matter what anyone thinks of Austin, it is exponentially more attractive to college kids that college station.

Also, what college football team (in Texas) in the last decade has defeated the most FBS teams? Not Baylor. Not A&M. It's Texas.

To be more specific, they don't believe in equal revenue sharing. They believe they have a superior brand and deserve more money than everyone else in the conference. They are going to try to set themselves apart from everyone else as soon as possible.

That’s an opinion.

Cities aren’t always the draw to kids you may think they are.

(adults/families are a different story)

Some of the nation’s most successful programs aren’t located in the “best” cities; in many instances, it can be argued the reverse is true.

Last decade = 2012-2021

vs. FBS opponents

Texas A&M: 72-41 (the 10 games vs. FCS opponents make the win total 82)
t.u.: 70-55

I am actually far more "excited" than "scared" to see these ~.500 Big 12 Texas teams become a 4-8 teams in the SEC.

In no way do I see Texas returning to national prominence any time soon and going to the SEC will expose their dysfunction as a program rather than solve it, which they would have you believe. They've always had great recruiting and a ton of money. What is the SEC going to provide them that they don't already have? How is it going to improve their program?

Are they going to steal recruits from A&M? In the first year since announcing their departure from the Big 12, A&M is putting together potentially their best class ever.

I fail to see what evidence there is that Texas is improving as a football program. I fail to see what evidence there is that LSU is improving as a program. So far both are 24-21 combined the last two years but can only cling to the past to feel relevant.

The 2012 A&M season was a combination of a roster that horribly underperformed the previous season, extreme luck with injuries (only one starter missed one game due to injury), and a weak schedule (3-2 vs. teams that finished above .500 in the regular season).

What TF is there to be scared of?

Their play on the field is mediocre and has been for a generation.
They change coaches every 3 years.
Their fan support is nowhere near anything in the SEC.
Their current student body is more interested in pronouns and removing statues than attending football games. Most don’t give a shite.
Their facilities are an aging eyesore.
Austin is full of discarded needles and homeless camps.

Nah. We’re good.

Like Flying DeLorean, I have no idea what "days are numbered" is supposed to mean. On this site A&M has already been issued a death certificate, so how much worse can it possibly get when we add a 5-7 team?

I welcome the opportunity to play texas in football again, sincerely. (Not all Aggies agree.) That is a game that football fans in Texas deserve. Football is not the problem. The problem is those motherfrickers will do whatever they can to advance t.u. at the expense of the other conference members. You've all seen (if you've paid attention) signs of that from the teasips who post here. "Why should Vanderbilt get an equal share? Shouldn't we weight conference revenues by attendance, prestige, income, etc.?"

Yeah, the SEC is powerful enough to shut them up on most issues, but they will be relentless. I predict that 5 years from now all of the dumbasses that thought this was a swell idea will be having serious second thoughts.

None of the four most recent Texas natives to win the Heisman Trophy played for the Longhorns.

I'm in total agreement with this sentiment. I remember when I lived in B-CS back in the 1970s and remembering trips to Austin and Houston where I would meet Texas exes whose arrogance bordered on the ridiculous. It was breathtaking. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Texas has played WVU in Morgantown these last few years. I'm sure the culture clash is quite a spectacle.
Just say NO to Texas and Okie, and invite Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech aboard.

I'll give a different take. t-sips by rule (there are exceptions) are cowards. Like terrorists, they will attack softer targets first. LSU should be concerned that t.u. focuses on THEM first because they're not ready to take down A&M yet. (think bigger than just football)

That's funny, considering we have steamrolled you for a hundred years...in everything. Quit being so fricking soft I guess.

But you have absolutely no past, and have done nothing, yet you all try to convince the rest of us like you're relevant?

You rejects truly are some of the most adorable fans I have ever seen. It's going to be fun being back and wipe our arse with y'all across all sports like we typically do

LSU against a&m since 2012:

Record: 8-2 LSU
Last meeting: 27-24 LSU
LSU longest win streak: 6
A&M longest win streak 1

Aggie logic says they're the better program than LSU even though they've never once had the upper hand in this century. Seems like a&m is the softest target of those two.

But I'm sure they don't act like petulant babies like this against all of their rivals past and present, right? Right???
