So much fake courage in this post. This is a guy who knows whats coming and cant admit it to himself.

I offered a $10k wager. I would be happy to meet up and finalize with a hand shake and a couple beers. Would you be interested in a different amount? Probably not. Texas fans are like catfish. All mouth and no arse.

Ewers has talent, but right now he has all the makings of a high profile bust.

Left high school early to cash in on NIL deals at Ohio State, got buried on depth chart, never saw field, transferred after after a year for more massive NIL money at a new school. Assuming he starts game 1 for Texas, dude will have gone almost 2 years without seeing game action at that point.

Maybe he'll be worth it and light it up, but from what we've seen so far I'll be kinda surprised if he's ever anything more than average.

You should be. LSU is a poor school in the SEC, in a poor state. LSU has been blown away by NIL. A&M isn’t scared.

Because he didn't get to play over a Heisman candidate while he was 17 years old? Lol ok.

Yea. Because a&m has a history of landing recruits that were 1.000 on 247 and watched them lead the aggies to numerous championships, conference and otherwise.

Wait a minute...

He didn't get to join fall camp until late August. Must be a bust because he didn't win the starting job in 3 weeks, as an 18 year old, in the most loaded QB room in the country.

My perspective is more the unknown. Maybe he is John Elway. Maybe he is Garrett Gilbert. Who knows.

That said he knew exactly what he was doing when he went to Ohio State so it seems odd. Either he thought he could win the job and play, fine. Or he knew he would have to wait a year or two, fine.

One thing that will be interesting on him is he is used to playing while being surrounded by superior talent and executing. At Southlake Carroll they had a massive talent edge as he would have at Ohio State. He won't have that at Texas, he's going to have to be the playmaker himself. Maybe he can do that, we will find out.

Moreso because he left after a year without even trying to compete with those other QBs past his first year.

Seems like a kid who bought too much into his own hype, and isn't willing to put in the work to really improve his game. I don't expect him to be terrible, he obviously has talent, but I think he is going to follow more in the footsteps of Jarrett Stidham than Joe Burrow.

They already have one daddy with LSU, and now with Texas coming home to them, they must know their days are numbered.

Did Texas's record even come to mind before you started this thread? You guys need to start filtering your drinking water.

Stidham went JUCO after leaving Baylor.

I don't give two shits about EWers going to Bonghorn.

I'm more concerned about Jimbo for once learning to incorporate any long passes beyond 20 yards from the LOS in the gameplan and actually frickin use it. Or go and get an offensive coordinator/playcaller who will. With Weigman and a healthy WR room that includes a couple of 5-stars and several other 4-star and big targets, next season should be absolutely zero reasons for A&M not to have a 1000 yard receiver. Demas, Stewart*, Chapman, Moose, Lane. Enough top notch players to make it happen and shut the trap of Bonghorns who try to negative recruit receivers in Jimbo's system.

I will admit this whole thing pissed me off during the offseason.

But then OU losing their coach and Texas losing to Kansas during the season (thereby making Sark a dead man walking) made it all better.

Karma is real.

I remember two guys, I think their names where Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray. The aggie camp was pretty positive that those guys were "scared of competition" and "weren't sec ready".

Good thing the aggie fans were right, because after those guys transferred, they completely fell off the map and never amounted to anything, right? Right???

Go back from 2012 till today and ask the question again. This t.u football program is no longer led by Mack Brown. Its more or less to what it was when I was growing up. A&M beat them routinely and was the better program.

On Thanksgiving I was rarely nervous and not only expected to win but hoped for a blowout.

They're "Back to Pre-Mack"

No, Aggies thought Kevin Sumlin screwed up a situation where he had 2 Five Star QB's. One of those was named after Kyle Field and went on to win a Heisman and be the #1 Pick in the draft. The other also became an NFL QB. It was what eventually got him fired.
