Will LSU be one of two schools if not the only one to not have a fixed thanksgiving rival

I haven’t looked at the others, but with our fixed three it doesn’t allow us to have a thanksgiving rivalry. I guess that’s okay because it’s been forced on us with someone since 1992.

Alabama can’t be your rival since you almost never win. Same for Gay&m. Maybe you can have Vandy

Liked it a whole lot more than a road game in College Station on Thanksgiving Day. Not a chance I’d ever make that game. Went to the Arkansas game almost every year. Either left around 6 Thanksgiving evening to drive down to BR from Memphis or to Little Rock the day of the game. Skipping Thanksgiving to go to College Station? Big nope

Would like to have seen LSU/Arkansas continue as the season finale. I understand keeping Bama, dislike keeping Ole Miss, really wish we kept Florida.

Meh, we don't really hate them and they only hate us until Texas is back on the schedule.
ETA: I'd be cool adding Tulane as a permanent Thanksgiving weekend game. Would be similar to UGA/Ga Tech, but at least it's an in-state game that's better than Nichols State or Louisiana Monroe/Laffy. Close enough for LSU/Tulane fans to attend without hampering the holiday weekend.

I think SEC was riding on the coattails of the BS 7OT game when coming to the decision of assigning permanent opponents. A&M made a damn cup about it.

We don’t beat them often but we are one of only a handful that ever has a shot. That shot is getting much bigger now.

I hate them more than any other SEC team. It was Bama but I just respect them now. A&M is more arrogant than Bama but has done nothing to deserve it.
