We’re gonna keep playing every year. Deal with it

OK, but it still solves two problems:

1. Gives LSU a Thanksgiving week opponent.
2. Fixes the problem of Bama having 3 "big 8" opponents
3. Fixes the problem of MS State having 0 "big 8" opponents

ETA: Also, my argument was that MS State and Bama have more history and tradition than MS State and LSU, and that is true. My suggestion, which fixes all issues, does not change that.

We shall see. Hopefully smarter people figure out that doesn't make sense.

Why does LSU need a permanent Thanksgiving opponent? That’s not a “problem” that needs fixing

Also not a “problem”

In reality, both are problems.

Creates an unfair disadvantage for Alabama. No other school has this.

This isn't something anyone needs when playing in the SEC.

I'm old enough to remember the season when nearly every Bama SEC opponent had a bye the week before playing us. That certainly didn't give us "a better resume," and this won't either.

I mean you guys are the most accomplished program in the conference so it's at least understandable that you guys get tougher competition

When you are the best, you usually play the best

This would still be the case with only 2 "big 8" opponents, which would put us on the level of every other top tier program in the future SEC.

ETA: There is no legitimate argument that "Bama is the best, so they should have an unfair schedule." That's nonsensical.

ETA2: Additionally, MS State currently has 0 "big 8" opponents in the rumored permanent opponent setup. How is that fair to them?

I guarantee you Texas and Oklahoma are considered marquee programs in scheduling discussions. Anyone claiming otherwise is fooling himself.

You say this like LSU has faired much better. Bama has dominated all conference opponents in this timeframe. Your argument is one based on emotion. Mine is not.

I haven’t looked at the others, but with our fixed three it doesn’t allow us to have a thanksgiving rivalry. I guess that’s okay because it’s been forced on us with someone since 1992.

Don't worry you'll always be "our" turkey!

The big 6 is the big 6 because they've all won the SEC Championship game.

God you sound like a idiot, please tell me what you expect Texas‘s record to be in the SEC cause it is far is most are concerned based on your record Texas is nothing but a mid-level to lower bottom program in this conference

no

The "Big 6" existed before the SEC championship game.

You've had Tennessee for the last 30 years. LSU has had Florida. Florida is unquestionably the better program over that time frame.

So why are you complaining.
