I'm not joking. We'd all get to stay home for Thanksgiving.

ETA: have some oyster dressing, talk shite about each others homicide rates, one up each other about who's mayor is dumber, try to count up the remaining cops in each department and see if the two together were even big enough to police one city, complain about who's roads are worse

Fun stuff.

Not annual it will rotate between Arkansas and Oklahoma. The year that LSU plays Arkansas, Oklahoma is playing Missouri. Then the year that LSU is playing Oklahoma, Arkansas is playing Missouri.

It makes the most sense. It will really turn up the heat on a side rivalry for LSU & Oklahoma.

I find it funny that A&M’s biggest accomplishments in the past 5 seasons are a 7OT win over fiesta bowl LSU, a last second FG win over national title runner up Bama and an upset victory over Citrus Bowl LSU. That’s what you people live for. Just these random upsets that have no bearing on the standings.

Nothing notable aside from those two “big wins”. How many times has A&M truly effected the standings and decided who goes to ATL or anything on the national scene? No major wins. Just an orange bowl in the Covid year after canceling games to fit their needs.

So I'm thinking these are the Thanksgiving week games based on the current permanent rivals rumors:

Arky-Mizzou (seems forced)
Texas-TAMU
Bama-Auburn
Florida-Florida State
Ole Miss-MSU
Vandy-UT
UGA-Georgia Tech
USC-Clemson
UK-Louisville
Oklahoma-OK State (is this continuing?)
LSU-???

I guess this is an odd man out type of situation for LSU.

LSU Black Friday I honestly miss those games but I am in the minority.

I don’t think you are. All my LSU friends and family loved the Black Friday LSU/Arkansas.

The games I enjoy the most as an LSU fan:

1) Florida
2) Auburn
3) Alabama
4) Arkansas
5) OM

UF and AU my 1 and 2 because those games when I was at LSU were the best.

I do agree, LSU/UF should have taken place of LSU/Bama or LSU/ATM.

Great things about Friday games is your team has played and you know results. Then you get to just enjoy all the other games on Saturday which are rivalry games and pretty good football

Because we aren't rivals and we both have more history with other teams.

I know you want to pretend your game with MS State means more but it doesn’t. And no you don’t have more history with many more teams. Alabama is LSU’s 3rd most played team with State and Ole Miss being the only teams they’ve played more. Alabama has played Tennessee, Auburn, and State more. No one else. So all this is doing is removing State from LSU’s and Alabama’s yearly schedule. Alabama and LSU have met every year since the early 60s and have played most years since the early 40s. There’s plenty of history in the series

As of today, no Bedlam is going away. They might eventually pick it back up but they already aren’t fixated with playing this game on thanksgiving weekend. They’ve moved it around many times over the years from late October to almost every week in November.

Playing the weenies, at the end of the season or any other time, won't happen until they agree to play the games in T.S. Money makes any other way impossible. LSU will never give up a million dollar home gate to play in a 40K high school stadium or even in the Dome, as the weenies are always asking for the majority of that gate. Despite LSU fans buying up most of the seats. No one enjoyed beating them 25 years in a row more than I did but those days are decades & decades long gone.

I'd rather switch between the dome and tiger stadium every year than college Station or little Rock.

LSU has also played State more than Alabama. If anyone gets to claim them, it is us.

LSU isn’t giving up a home game if LSU/Tulane play rivalry weekend. It would be a home and home just like it is now with ATM. It would be similar to UGA/GA Tech.

I’m not advocating one way or another, but there could be advantages for LSU to revisit a home and home with Tulane over that last weekend.

In that case, why wouldn't they just make Oklahoma and LSU a permanent game and have them play Thanksgiving weekend? Seems pretty easy to make happen.

Here's how to do it with the current rumored permanent games:

Remove the Bama-LSU game
Remove MS State-TAMU
Remove Oklahoma-Florida
Add LSU-Oklahoma
Add MS State-Bama
Add TAMU-Florida

Florida keeps a team from the western edge/Texas area of the SEC, which I can only assume is why they have Oklahoma.
MS State gets a "big 8" opponent (did not have one) and keeps the Bama game.
LSU keeps a "big 8" opponent and gets a Thanksgiving game (as does Oklahoma).
Bama gets away from having 3 "big 8" opponents (no other school is rumored to be set up this way) and keeps the MS State game.

Just because you don't like a good solution doesn't mean it isn't a good solution.

ETA: I know you're really eat up with trying to make Bama-LSU a rivalry, but it just isn't. There's no meaning to that game and there's no reason to force Bama to play 3 "big 8" opponents every year to keep it.
