Costco sells a good sensation dressing. Not sure if you can find someone to send it to you to try out.

What's crazy is Steve Jobs would approve of EXACTLY this type of nonsense.

I have had a Masterbuilt for about 5 years. had to replace the control panel once (free through warranty) and the heating element (Amazon parts for $29) so it's not my favorite to take care of, but it is a great starter smoker if you want to see how far you are willing to go with it. At the time it was about $250 after tax. Box style smoker so it's not the same as some grill style smokers. I would recommend looking up the differences as it pertains to how heat is managed between the different types. It's not a massive difference, but it will help you when you are figuring out where to place difference foods if you are smoking multiple
all-inclusive in Cancun for 8 women - help them not go broke
Posted by BilbeauTBaggins on 11/9/25 at 6:41 pm
Mrs. BTB (no pics, force of habit from tOT) and her friends are trying to plan out a bachelorette trip in March. They want an all-inclusive so that they don't have to leave the resort, but may do snorkeling as an off-resort activity. All should be flying out of NOLA (we have SWA points to pay) and flights are currently relatively inexpensive. The goal is to spend less than $1k per person for a 3 night stay (Saturday night thru Tuesday morning.) Several Spanish speaking bridal party members, so not sure if that will help with any type of things they they could do on the trip.
Generally I am the one that does the planning for all of our family/friends trips but I have zero experience with Cancun. Any help would be appreciated.

For cocktails I would suggest Hayride Scandal. During the summer I know live music was playing on Saturday nights and I do not believe they were happening on Friday nights. The music inside pairs with the "swanky" atmosphere that's provided with the lighting and furniture. Radio Bar is also a fun atmosphere. Drove by the old Happy's (now O'Hara's) on Friday night and there was a live band, but I couldn't tell you if they were good or not since the acoustics are awful from outside.
If you REALLY want to go to Fred's, Pants Party will be playing after the game.

On a handful of occasions have I had a dream where my teeth were falling out as I was dreaming, which is a common dream many people have associated with stress/anxiety.

2025-2026 Baton Rouge Zydeco Hockey Thread
Posted by BilbeauTBaggins on 11/5/25 at 8:58 pm
Figured we can spin off the NHL thread and have a mod eventually anchor this to the bottom of MSB.
Season already underway and the Zydeco have dropped 4 in a row after opening the season with a W. They'll split up a home/away series between Biloxi on Friday and Saturday this weekend before a 2 week break.
I know the team/lease/whatever contract they have is supposed to end after this year, so hopefully enough fan/financial support can give us at least a 2026-2027 season (unless this has changed.)

New track indoor and outdoor could draw revenue from hosting regional events.
Woodward was proposed the opportunity to buy an indoor track for Carl Maddox (I believe used/refurbished) that would've drawn more meets and money for the university several years ago and the price has since tripled to buy an indoor track.
The outdoor track would have been moved to the golf course but from my understanding, engineers realized it was going to cost way more than it would have been worth to move the track. My guess is the proximity to the levee water table and the golf course itself have issues that would've made the project cost too much.
Fun fact:
When the track was resurfaced last year, the program was under the impression that the track would be moved soon so they resurfaced with the same red/beige color scheme we have had, but if LSU knew the track was staying put, it would've have likely been purple.

Last year i was in a bachelor trip with FSU fans and i had reached out to both LSU and FSU alumni chapters. The LSU Phoenix chapter was not as organized and the FSU chapter had a big crowd (this was during LSU/South Carolina) and we watched at some irish pub in a strip mall. At halftime we moved over to Talking Stick Resort and they finished showing the LSU game in the biggest screen they had. Really fun time.
I would recommend finding the LSU Phoenix alumni chapter president and/or finding them on Facebook.

re: Satellite internet for camp
Posted by BilbeauTBaggins on 11/3/25 at 10:01 pm to BabySam
It would be just for when family gets together or someone wants a weekend out. It is being shared by 3 households and they want to be able to watch TV/use WiFi when they are there (sometimes children) but the cost was a factor in this since they will need to pay for utilities as long as they have the property, which they want for a few decades.
Satellite internet for camp
Posted by BilbeauTBaggins on 11/2/25 at 10:38 pm
In-laws are being passed down a camp that will need satellite for internet. It only has satellite tv but that will be dropped soon. Area is in rural MS and all the neighbors have satellite so it sounds like that is the only option for internet. I'm told the family does have a Starlink satellite that has not been activated or installed as this was supposed to be done in the future.
This camp would be visited maybe once a month on average for family weekends/getaways, possibly twice a month. Quick research shows that Starlink is fairly reliable for $80/mo and you can pause your service for $5/mo, possibly allowing the billing cycle to pause as well. Are there cheaper options than Starlink that are worth this camp?

Mix dawn dish soap and baking soda, make a paste, then scrub and leave on for a few hours/overnight. I did it with some other types of red stains we got on our quartzite countertops and it worked, maybe it will work on dye.

Actual LSU fans always knew this. Landry is pandering to whatever is left of the 17% of eligible voters that voted for him.
TAF has paid for every staff member as long as I can remember and even bailed out the university when Jindal was trying to slash education.

The people on the board play the politics game with Landry. There is some cause for concern. I don't think Landry will do anything too politically goofy because LSU football drives a massive amount of revenue for the university/city, but he has shown that he will do dumb shite for the sake of being talked about on national media.
