Joe Burrow earned his Masters Degree while at LSU. He was 23 years old when he graduated. A freshman QB could be 18. So was Burrow that good because he was 5 years older?

Stetson has a degree.

This slam was only valid when LSU folks used in the SECCG game. He got his economics degree in December.

So you would say that Matt Stafford "didn't really accomplish shite" at Georgia as well? Same # of division, conference and national titles as Hooker. I thought Stafford was pretty good and would never say he "didn't accomplish shite" at UGA.

Yes, I would say he didn’t accomplish shite compared Stetson which is what OP is comparing.

I like Stetson just fine. In fact, I LOVE STETSON BENNETT! And you know what, I wouldn't care if he was 35 years old. I don't care if he is hated and scorned by you and every freakun non-UGA fan in the entire dadgum country. I don't care if he drinks enough Jim Beam and Jack Daniels to petrify Godzilla's liver.

I don't care about his criminal record. I wouldn't care if a video of him showed up on youtube of him sodomizing a hooker with cocaine smeared on his nose like freakun Scarface! Well, that might make me raise my eyebrow, but you get my drift. I'm not even going to lose much sleep if he doesn't even get drafted into the NFL. But, what I DO care about?...is that he won back-to-back NCs for my beloved UGA bulldawgs. He was the Offensive MVP of 2 playoff games and 2 national title games. His senior year, he threw for 4000+ besting Matt Stafford, Aaron Murray, David Greene and Eric Zeier. Whether any rival fans have the testicular fortitude to admit it or not, he is one of the greatest QBs that has ever played in the SEC or in the great game of CFB period.

Him and a fella named Hershel Walker are the 2 greatest bulldawgs that have done more for UGA football than any other. Therefore, he is loved. And on behalf of the rest of Dawgnation...if you don't like it...suck it.

Very, very few players to play at Georgia underachieved in college as much as he did. Stafford should have been so, so, so much better than he was in college.

Stetson ran through all the contenders like a they were wet paper sacks the last couple of years.

Most but not all. There was that time the Bama defense made him look like a walk on in the 2021 SEC title game.

To his credit Stetson redeemed himself quite well in the CFP.

It isn't unfair because it was in the rules. But of course it is an advantage to have 23+ year olds competing against 19 20, and 21 year olds.

If college football was serious about parity,it would encourage more 5th year and 6 year players (so talented kids can continue to improve and lead their teams into the playoffs).

It would absolutely hurt high school recruiting (unless scholarship caps are increased).
But that is how you improve a TCU or Cincinnati to the point of beating top 10 recruiting classes.

Hooker's mentioned, but never brought up as a negative in the same way?

People in the news business love to tear down winners. They were never worth a shite at anything and I am guessing it makes them feel powerful. They are no good, low down, dirty pieces of shite, for the most part.

Completely agree and it's fun to see all the GA fans get their tails in a knot when we make of the old man they have for a QB!!

It's debatable as to if he accomplished anything, I guess.

He did win a major bowl game, finished ranked every season, got a first place vote in a final poll. So, it was better than Hendon, but it's fair to say he didn't accomplish anything since no championships or all american type status. This century, he'd probably rank behind Stetson, Greene, Shock, Fromm and Murray as far as UGA QBs go.

No. That's not what I'm getting at. I'm just saying it's a stupid criticism. And it seems to come up just because of the success. Stetson would've preferred to play as a freshman or sophomore at a big time school. No one offered him that. If it's such an advantage, why aren't schools trying to get walk ons and JUCOs that'll never be selected high enough in a draft to leave early so they can play them at 24 and 25?

As to someone else in this thread's statement. I'm told Stetson graduated in December.
