Because Hooker was a mid round prospect and still is, partly because of his age. Stetson wasn’t supposed to be drafted prior to this season so pros and cons with him weren’t relevant before.

But saying age has never been brought up with Hooker just isn’t accurate. It’s been talked about plenty.

Ah, the logical fallacy of "I didn't hear it so it never happened."

Just because the voices in your echo chamber believe something doesn’t make it so.

Stafford was the last Georgia QB to win a game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

But in reality Stafford went to Georgia to play in a pro-style offense.

Stafford has become the NFL QB who has reached 50,000 yards in the shortest amount of time.

I can't say whether or not he has a degree, but Jake Fromm's name appeared in the 12/22 commencement and Stetson's didn't:

Football
Robert Beal (Duluth, Ga.; Religion), Payton Bowles (Athens, Ga.; Political Science), Davis Day (Hamilton, Ga.; Management), Jake Fromm (Warner Robins, Ga.; Finance), Warren McClendon (Brunswick, Ga.; Sport Management), Nathan Priestley (Los Angeles, Ca.; Sport Management), Brett Seither (Clearwater, Fla.; Sport Management), Christopher Smith (Atlanta, Ga.; Sport Management), Tramel Walthour (Hinesville, Ga.; Sport Management)

No. That's not what I'm getting at. I'm just saying it's a stupid criticism

It doesn't matter if that's what you're getting at or not.
If IV were black, nobody would do anything but heap praise on him. He'd be the greatest story in college football the past 2 years. The legend of how he overcame having no scholarship offers and coming from a small town to win two titles. It would be big news if he were black.

But he isn't. He's just an entitled, privileged white boy from South Georgia.

The fact that he's older than the avg player is just mildly humorous to people- probably because it gets under the skin of some UGA fans. If a 26 year old had just won 2 titles at BAMA, I would give zero fricks about what people said. No. I'd give negative fricks. I'd have to get a frick to give zero fricks.

An Aggie saying someone isn’t lovable! Have you taken a good look at your head coach?

That’s literally what I’m telling you. Stetson is as likable as Jimbo is. And it bothers you guys. Stetson is a very accomplished guy who will most likely be drafted before the 5th round, but he isn’t a dude that is as likable as a Joe Burrow per se. I dislike LSU, but I can’t hate a Joe Burrow.

So was Burrow that good because he was 5 years older?

23 is not old at all when you consider that many players are using up their eligibility years well into grad school.

Bo Nix turns 23 this month and will play in the upcoming 2023 season.

Joe Burrow earned his Masters Degree while at LSU. He was 23 years old when he graduated.

He turned 23 in December of his 5th year. That's normal for a 5th year student. I always thought it was weird how they tried to act like he was so old. Lamar Jackson's age was always brought up in those discussions as if him being younger than Burrow was supposed to be amazing and make Burrow look like an elder statesman. In reality, they are one month apart in age, and Jackson left school after 3 years to Burrows 5. Sounds a lot different when it's framed like that but I guess that wouldn't generate the same number of clicks

Why is a subject that’s utterly irrelevant now being brought up after the season has concluded

As in losing sleep over it? No.

As in, it struck me as really strange and was kind of silly? Yes.

It seems that some think this provides some kind of big advantage. I remember Rick Reilly writing about it 20 plus years ago in SI. He thought it wasn't fair that BYU had 25 year olds up and down the roster because of those Mormon mission trips and it allowed them to dominate their conference.

But it was brought up with Stetson much more often than with Hooker. I watched the games and heard the sports personalities discuss both many times.

Because I wanted to.

And you're an idiot if you think the board isn't filled with threads like this in the offseason.

That QB you tried to buy, but didn't have enough money is over and done with. People are still writing articles about it.

Probably a good idea for him to stash some NIL money away.

There was that time the Bama defense made him look like a walk on in the 2021 SEC title game. To his credit Stetson redeemed himself quite well in the CFP.

Trading places starting Stetson and Bryce.

The walk on trades places with the heisman, and hilarity ensues.
