But it was brought up with Stetson much more often than with Hooker.

Well, one was leading the #1 team and defending national title winning team to another national title while also being a Heisman finalist. The other was none of those things. UGA got way more media attention than Tennessee did this year, and rightfully so. With enhanced media attention, the more every little aspect of the program and players will be discussed. Same thing happened with Chris Weinke at FSU. Had he been the QB for a team like GA Tech (finished 2nd in the ACC that year), I don't think we'd have heard much about his age.

The walk on trades places with the heisman, and hilarity ensues.

Bryce still wins a Heisman and 2 titles, Saban would encourage Bennett to medically retire.

In game 2, The heisman plays like a walk on, and the walk on plays like a heisman.

Not that you would be familiar with either story.

Stetson's age is only being pointed out right now because he's had some immature acts during the draft process. It's just one thing on the list of things scouts write down about prospecta. We had a player last season, Velus Jones, who went in the 3rd round as a WR. He was the main reason none of us were too concerned when people brought up Hendon's age. The draft right now, has accounted for a lot of older players than in years past because of the covid era.

Age hurts Stetson because scouts think someone his age shouldn't be out getting arrested for PI while he was supposed to be preparing for the draft. They're asking themselves if he as a 25 year old man can't keep it together now when everything is on the line then is he worth the risk?

It's not that he's 25 or old but that he's that age and making the mistakes you expect of a younger man (the ones most of us mature out of). What's more, is that he's a QB where leadership is a vital skill.

So you would say that Matt Stafford "didn't really accomplish shite" at Georgia as well?

Stafford's years at Georgia was his combine for the NFL draft.

Hooker was considered the Heisman leader middle of the season. For two weeks, Tennessee was the talk of football. Hardly mentioned his age.

Hooker is probably 25 IQ points over Bennett. Deal with it.

ETA: Bennett maybe 10 points beyond you. Woof

Hooker's mentioned, but never brought up as a negative in the same way?

Bennett: October 27, 1997

Hooker: January 13, 1998

Hooker had five years experience playing games at four year schools, all at the power five level.

Stetson only had four such years.

Hooker was a four star prospect according to 247 out of high school.

Bennett was awarded no stars out of high school and given three stars as a JUCO transfer.

Hooker always played on a scholarship for a Power 5.

Bennett's first year was as a walkon and his second was as a JUCO.

He was in the top 4 all season including after his injury. And the only reason he didn’t win it was because of his injury. Because he is a significantly more talented quarterback than Bennett.

Bennett being a top-tier douche made it easy to make jokes about him. Plus, he looks old.

Uga and SC had a lot to do with it too, but you are too much of a homer to admit it.

He was still in position to win after UGA but that was more about lackluster performances by the competition than anything else. The UofSC game before the injury he was at 250 yards 3TDs and no INTs. Without the injury he likely finishes with 300 plus yards minimum of 4 TDs and 0 INTs and puts up huge numbers against Vandy the next week. Without that injury he likely wins the Heisman. Even with it he still finished 4th in the voting.

You could have kept your ignorance from showing by actually understanding the Heisman race this year had no clear cut candidate but hell you probably think Bennett actually deserved to be in the discussion.

No one is just gonna take your word for it.

When uga smashed the vols, The voters were given reason to doubt hooker, and also reason to consider Bennett over hooker.

Good to see you still don’t understand what stat is or isn’t important when analyzing a qb, but let’s see some of them vs SC:

Hooker:
59% completion
5.9 YPA
132 passer rating

Stetson:
69% completion
12.3 YPA
201 passer rating

Same reason they say Kirby has a bowl cut. When you can’t beat a program on the field, some resort to childish pokes and name-calling, but it’s manifestly called jealousy.
