How will pulling down monuments, changing the names of buildings, forbidding certain rides at a theme park, cutting out a football teams chant, etc. change poverty, poor education, and the perceived oppression of African Americans?
Homework isn’t done because it’s about racist topics. So without the racist topics homework can be done
And black woman will stop aborting 1/3 babies because the country will no longer be racist.

No... he stays, but we must talked about how he died more frequently. Same with Huey Newton.

Is that really going to change something with POC? How about take some personal responsibility and be productive members of society?
I don't care what color you are. Be a good person and not a piece of shite and you'll be respected.

Also if you are going to bring something as ridiculous as Hitler into the discussion, Sherman and Grant were much closer to war criminals than Lee and Jackson.
My less you consider slaves people.

After reading the rant the last few days its abundantly clear that you all definitely dont want anything to change. Regardless of how decisive it may be. Regardless of who brings up the topic. Its consistantly a strong hell no. Really just want a healthy conversation about the times we are in
Okay, I'll bite.
Today it's the past of some people (which NONE of us (on either side of the topic) PHYSICALLY were a part of). What's it tomorrow - gender, weight, hair color, height, age, dominant hand, .....?
Also, like with the issue of cops, how many people ACTUALLY are offended that name changes, removal of statues, removal of ANY part of history/tradition will resolve it vrs. just having a civil discussion about GOING FORWARD?

Sherman burned civilian homes to the ground and encouraged a band of rapist and looters to follow after his Army to “punish” the civilian population after he left. Sounds like the second coming of Jesus. Stonewall Jackson held Sunday services for his men and was known for treating prisoners well, but yeah he’s the bad guy.
Please tell me when Columbus joined the Confederacy as well since you guys seem to love tearing down statues of him the most.

While I do enjoy seeing major urban areas who only vote Democrat for every level of government literally burn themselves down while somehow blaming others for their problems, I don't really want that for my neighborhood. I guess that makes me crazy.
Sounds like trump - blames EVERYBODY else for his own problems.

We may as well face the fact that our country is going down the gutter.
Only to save this country is turn back to GOD. Nothing else is going to fix it. God has been kicked out of schools and anything government related. There is more I would like to say but won't because I'll be called a racist.

I don’t see a lot of arguments over Jefferson Davis statues. I see mainly war memorials to the dead being vandalized which is lower than pig shite on the part of the “protesters.” The DC protesters were desecrating ALL the war memorials, not Confederate memorials. When you start spray painting statues of Lincoln you lost me and most normal people.
100% with you right there, Pard. Not many places where war dead, even enemy war dead, are not treated with respect. Jeez look at all the German war cemeteries in France.
Those kids might have been fighting for a cause that is now considered misguided, but they were fighting for their homes. Most were dirt poor. They suffered, were maimed, were killed in defense of their homes. To discard them on the dustbin of history because 'times have changed' is shameful. Maybe not as shameful as black history in this country, but shameful nonetheless and two wrongs don't make a right.
The Athens civil war monument is about to be moved from a prominent spot downtown. It has names of local war dead. It was not put up in defiance of civil rights etc. It was put up in 1872 , and only because it took the families that long to raise the money to buy the damn thing. They put it up to remember their sons who died for their country.
As sympathetic as I am to the plight of black folks in this country and as much as i want them to feel and experience true American equality, this cancel culture BS associated with the BLM really turns me off to the movement.
