Now Sankey is setting the stage for a future legal fight against member schools who will have to defend themselves. Beyond dumb. Don’t think the Big 10 won’t consider coming in to sweep up schools the SEC litigates against.
Sankey was dumb to go so strong on an issue he was likely to lose. This is a one season phenomenon. He should have let it pass and planted the flag on next season going forward. He now looks weak and it’s completely due to his own ineptness. Don’t fight losing battles.

This is beyond stupid. It like saying the law doesn’t ban stealing, it just puts you in jail for it. The SEC is clearly retaliating with the intention of stopping the TRO players from playing for any SEC school. That directly negatively affects the player.

The whole point of the rule is to prevent these players from playing. The mechanism doesn’t matter when that is the clear purpose and outcome. Hope Sankey enjoys depositions, discovery, and paying damages.
So the mafia isn’t threatening you directly if they just threaten to kill your family if you testify. Got it.
It’s not consistent with how they treat baseball and they didn’t call an emergency meeting to make a rule specifically aimed at Alabama.
It’s certainly a bad antitrust look that all 4 power conferences had meetings on this the same seemingly leading to the same outcome. If there are any talks with NCAA found in discovery it’s going to be tough to defend the SEC position.
I’ll say it. El Gaucho is a national treasure.

I will never forgive Brian Kelly for giving away the Vegas game to USC. Ruined a great weekend. Of all the dumbass things BK did, losing that game at the end against a weak USC team was one of his worst performances.
