The NCAA site only lists polls (although they're still missing polls from the records book). The ones they have before the AP in 1936 were all retroactive too. The NCF (National Championship Foundation) didn't even exist until 1980, for example.

They count Notre Dame too (the NFF's McArthur Bowl trophy) but Notre Dame doesn't claim it for some reason. Ohio State claims 1970 based on the NFF.

Me personally? If it's a poll listed in the records book and it actually existed at the time...claim that son of a bitch.
Keep in mind I said polls, not selectors. Something like Jeff Sagarin or Deke Houlgate shoulnd't be claimed IMO.

Is this the same expose which purports to tear down all of Alabama's "illegitimate" title claims, only to ultimately conclude that Alabama has more than twice as many "legitimate" titles as any other school in the country? I don't seem to recall too many Bama fans being up in arms about that.

Well, going by the link Notre Dame has 13 and USC has 9 so no.

You might not want to read that since he probably doesn't count 64 for Arkansas. Just Chicken getting his troll on. 
I think he only counted 96 for us since Boise State and Utah were undefeated in 06 and 08.

2. Did the BCS or CFP (the first systems that everyone agreed to play under with a designated title game and trophy) exist in 1984 and 1993?
