I answered your question honestly. My point is your question is absolutely irrelevant to, well, anything being discussed in this thread.

The answer to your question was no, Bryant didn't consider either of those games as glorified scrimmages.
I didn't know that the AP reverted to voting before the bowls again. Thanks for the info.

Well the 1973 ND game was basically for the AP National Championship so I think it meant way more.
But why is it relevant?
The biggest problem with the Poll era is that it rarely matched #1 vs #2 against each other. I mean hell, only 3 out the 6 national championship bouts Miami played in the 80’s and 90’s matched #1 vs #2 and they went 1-2 in them. And Miami won every national on their run in the 80’s and 90’s except for 1 was in the Orange Bowl ( their home stadium), but no one whines about it. No one ever questions the legitimacy of Miami’s titles until the 2000’s.

Because some fanbases will argue about the number they have until the others just give up trying to explain why they are lying. Then people just quit caring what number they throw out or years they claim.
Are you for real? Some clown for Auburn wrote a BOOK about their "titles" not rightfully awarded.

Every Auburn fan under the sun whines about Miami's 1983 title.

Yeah but, it's auburn, who cares?

I see many trolls on this site (namely OU and Bama posters) who would argue till they are blue in the face that the Hawg's 1964 National Championship is not legit.
What OU fan cares about pig’s 1964 season? Did we play you that year or were we in contention? Since the answer to both is “no”, why would it bother you?

If Auburn wants to claim 2004 or 1983 I’m sure most Bama fans wouldn’t whine about it because we know they were screwed in both cases.
But Auburn will never claim 2004 because they would owe Tubberville a crap ton of money if they did.

Alabama isn’t the only program who was awarded a national championship and then lost their bowl game. 1950 Oklahoma and 1960 Minnesota come to mind immediately.

has anyone read my expose' on Bama's bogus titles?

Yeah, we’ve read your trollish expose and I believe every single one of your points were successfully refuted.

Alabama won titles in 64 and 65, but Arkansas had better records both years. In fact, our only loss was to LSU and it ended a 22 game win streak.

My only gripe is any university retroactively adding championships decades later.

Only issue being you lack SEC titles
List looks good though

So LSU has the second most and Georgia has the same as Arky and Ole Miss? I'll take it...

Yep, no arguments here. It’s a shame Arkansas wasn’t able to get a title either of those years.

This is literally every traditional power house. USC retroactively awarded itself a title from the 30s back in 2004 or 2005. Most of Michigan’s title claims were retroactively awarded. Same for some of the Ivy League schools like Princeton.
