He’ll do fine in the short term. Maybe even very well.

Lane kiffin put in structure and his use and foresight of the transfer portal gave ole miss an edge.
however, NIL came out at the same time.. and every time we tried to play the money game in the past the ncaa would step in. so now we could be on equal footing and he was given an elite Collective, that others in the country tried to replicate.
could another coach have done similar.. a Napier type coach probably.

Because he's not their current coach. Look at how they treated Brian kelly. You would have thought he was saban and hadn't gotten absolutely throttled every meaningful game. "Its different cuz people here eat weird shite."

kelly would have done great if he would have actually worked. he just played golf...he was coming off of taking note dame back to a point that they hadn't been in a long time, how would we have been able to forsee how it went..he had 1 bad year ,he got fired because he wouldnt make the changes the ad suggested and he played too much golf

He certainly did well with the team in the playoffs. Ole Miss has a way of falling up that is enviable

Coach Pete doesn’t suck. If your ok with 7-5 and 8-4 seasons then you are good.i don’t don’t see him making the playoffs with Coach CW or coach LK

I don’t think Pete sucks. To be honest, I don’t think there’s enough data on Pete to know much about his head coaching abilities. I hope he does well, but miserably fails against LSU. However, I suspect the OM fans do not reciprocate, but I can understand that sentiment.

They aren't convinced. They're just trying to speak it into existence.
To hear Ole Miss fans tell it, Pete was the mastermind behind the scenes while Lane was getting Narcaned on the bathroom floor. It's ridiculous.

I wish Lane well, as you say, except against Ole Miss. He did a lot for us but it was time to part ways. I think we milked more than we thought possible out of Lane.

I wish Lane well, as you say, except against Ole Miss. He did a lot for us but it was time to part ways. I think we milked more than we thought possible out of Lane. But he needed to go instead of sticking around trashing the fanbase.
