The point is you idiots always expect your coach is about to tear it up (see Sidewalk's near perpetual manual gratification of Brian Kelly) and Alabama's, including Saban after his first year at Bama, to tank.

Hence y'all really don't know your fartholes from your elbows.

He will look serviceable in year 1, then reality will quickly set in.

I just don’t get all of the craziness on both sides of the LSU/OM thing. We play one game a year, and that acute contest has no influence whatsoever on whether either team makes the CFP, ie both teams beat every other opponent yet one looses to the other, they’re both in without question.

I get why OM fans are sour; they lost there guy who led them to a lot of success, and the timing was absurd. That timing thing will change for all of college football, and if Pete is the coach he’s held out to be by OM, the season outcome was the same or better than if Kiffin had stayed.

LSU got Kiffin, which appears to align with the OM fanbase’s desires, given they hate Kiffin and thought it was time for him to go.

So, what’s the fuss about again?

could another coach have done similar.. a Napier type coach probably.

You have got to be kidding. Napier failed miserably at a program with far more support, recruiting opportunities and a much bigger brand. Kiffin wisely realized that the portal was the answer because Ole Miss was never going to stand toe-to-toe with the elite programs in getting high school talent. Plus, Kiffin is also an offensive savant. Is Pete a defensive savant?

Like I posted, the jury is out on Golding. He has a chance.

I saw the playoff run;I don't think he's a bad coach but I do agree that the jury is still out. I kind of see an Orgeron angle in the sense that Good Ed is a good coach but how long does he stick around?
