Bama will be young, but we have 2 - 5 stars and the Number one player and Gatorade player of the year in the backfield. I think they’ll surprise some folks.

Our QB coach is Joe Judge. He's still with the team.

You know I actually thought for a while that I had finally started a thread that made it to 2 whole pages with nothing but decent, mature, good-natured, informative input and conversation on the beloved topic of college football without someone chiming in with a snide, condescending, childish jab...and then you showed up. (sigh)

There are some posters on this forum that will never change. SMH

LSU has a ton of talent that will finally have a chance to shine in a real offense. I think by the end of the year we'll be talked about as one of the best in the SEC.

QB: Leavitt
RB: Durham, Berry, Jones

Dilin Jones from Wisconsin has been really impressing and the other two guys are pretty electric athletes and blue chip recruits.

As a LSU fan I would. I think our running game will be much improved but it will in no way be near the top of the SEC. I think we will be balanced but we just dont have that traditional LSU big time back. Id love to be wrong and maybe Durham turns it around or one of the new guys. I just think we spend the beginning of the season figuring out how to run the offense. I think this is an Ole Miss Georgia fight for the top spot.

We had a terrible offensive system with a weak OL that was poorly coached.

We should have a pretty damn good running back room this year IMO. Dillin Jones is more traditional, Berry is electric, Durham is finally healthy and is a mix of both.

Leavitt has good wheels too, it'll keep linebackers honest and really help the running backs.

Replacement RB Coach Frank Wilson is a great recruiter (Not needed any longer with NIL) but a really bad in-game RB Coach. Most LSU fans were glad to see him go.

Your current RB coach led a room where we moved a slot WR to RB rather than play a RB currently in the NFL with the playoffs on the line. That slot WR ran for 2 yards per carry and lost a fumble as Ole Miss lost to Florida and was eliminated from playoff contention in 2024. The perfectly healthy NFL RB got 0 carries in that game but ran for 100+ the next week in the Egg Bowl. He also had no ability to reign in Quinshon Judkins.

QB coach is still at Ole Miss btw.

I mean, those 2 backs played in the worst designed, worst coached, worst executed rushing game in LSU history. Their stock can only go up.

Bottom half of the league as long as Deboer is your coach

Rando three star that was on a terrible team and will get touches in a more traditional downhill running back role. He has really turned heads in camp apparently. Wouldn't be the first time a player like that comes into a new team and system and shows out.

Berry will play like a scat back and potentially line up outside or in the slot in Kiffin's offense I think, he'll be on the field with other RBs I believe.

ETA:

Kewan Lacy was a rando 3 star

Well, it could be worse. We could be Auburn or LSU.

"Oklahoma will be better than most". -Bob Stoops quote from several years ago; repeated by Stoops many, many times.

"Better than most" -repeated by OU fans over and over because Stoops said it and Stoops lost the final game all but once.

Kiffin doesn’t put two RB’s on the field at the same time. Wisconsin guy is your main back. Berry will get 10 carries a game. And Durham should have transferred.

You also said Chris Kiffin would be our defensive coordinator.

i'd rather him than last year's rb coach.

Ours will be the biggest unknown. Our QB has barely played and our RB is 2 years off an injury and still runs like he has a piano on his back. At least according to spring game reports.

I would bet at the end of the year the average ypg in rushing and TDs will be topped by

Georgia or Texas

Arch had 3163 yds padding, 26 TDs, 7 ints with 399 rushing and 10 rushing TDs. Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown combined for 2080 rushing. Texas also added a potential 1st rounder at RG and a top 10 pick at WR
