I’ve never understood what that was nor its appeal.

When Coach Fritz Crisler first came to Michigan, he designed the winged helmet so that his passer could find his receivers down field.

The interlocking OU logo is iconic. As iconic as the winged helmet of Michigan, the shiny gold helmet of Notre Dame, and the A of Alabama.
Every sports fan in America immediately recognizes the interlocking OU. Yeah, I know you still believe that the Sooners don't belong in the SEC.
When the majority of one teams wobbles once or twice on the beam but the OU team does not wobble one time......"it is biased judging." And when one team vaults and takes an extra step on the landing but all the OU team does the twists and flips and land right side up the way it was planned......."it is judges scoring per reputation." :rotflmao:

How did one LSU gymnast score two perfect tens against OU?

OK announced a few months ago they are reducing stadium size. I assume to add more luxury boxes

True. Luxury boxes and Club seats will dominate the entire west side plus most of south end zone.

I went to the Mizzou game in Norman last month and was surprised how small it felt

Go to a Mizzou game in Columbia.
OU hit official high of 85k. Largest crowds were against TCU and Ohio State at over 88,000. Due to remodeling, required to put in handrails-cut out 2 seats from each row, Put in club seats, to replace bleachers, in south end with lots of leg room and free food. All that cut it to 82k. West side remodel will remove bleachers in favor of club seats. The club seats require a capital donation of at least $5k plus an annual donation of $2k for the south. Won't be surprised if the west side will be lot higher. The donations are in addition to ticket prices. Every OU season ticket holder must pay a donation.

The OU stadium has chairs in upper east side deck, most of south end zone and will have chairs on majority of west side including west upper deck.
I read somewhere that OU and Texas have highest ticket prices/donation requirements in the SEC. With the west side remodel, OU may run at top of the league. The AD believes that OU will bring in more revenue with a smaller stadium. Many, including me believe it is a mistake.

You SEC hillbillies are standing in bleachers all over, aren't you. Like me in the north OU end zone.
Unless I missed something, OU and Texas are the only SEC teams that did not schedule a FCS weakling in November.

In nonconference, OU hosts G5 UTEP and New Mexico and travels to play Michigan in Ann Arbor, all in September.

Texas plays G5 Texas State and Texas San Antonio and hosts Ohio State.

And SEC fans talk about the gauntlet.
OU kicked arse at Wake Forest, 86-68. Try to keep up!
Auburn is on the list because they played Oklahoma. :rotflmao:

Serious follow up question... Do you have to pay admission to the Texas State Fair AND buy a ticket for the game, or does your game ticket include admission to the fair?

Your game ticket gets you onto the Fairgrounds. Parking is extra.

I have stayed in Plano, Rowlett, Garland, McKinney at the nicer chain hotels.
I try to get to Fairgrounds to see the bands march to the stadium. Best years is when the OU Pride is first in line and as they pass by, the OU fans move onto the street right behind the Pride, chanting Boomer Sooner Texas Sucks and follow our band to the stadium which forces the Whorn Band to stop and wait.
Lane Kiffin ran this same play against Texas A&M when Jimbo was there in 2023. It worked then too. Interesting note, the DC at Aggy at that time was DJ Durkin, the current DC of Auburn.

Sankey had no business calling out OU. It was simply because Auburn whined and OU is not considered part of the SEC country club yet. Auburn needs to pay attention and play defense against the 11 who are on the field.

Deception not part of the game?? Well then, get rid of the play action pass and the quarterback pulling the ball out of the running back's hands after the QB hands it off.

re: Storming the field

Posted by SoonerMagic1 on 7/25/25 at 2:32 pm to
I only recall Kansas one time and Oklahoma State maybe half the time they beat OU but that wasn't too many times.

91-20-7

I suppose they even stormed the field for a tie.

Maybe AD for AD.

For those that don't know, AD stands for All Day.
Adrian Peterson ran All Day. He is AD.

Walk is about 1.2 miles. Shuttle bus ride is popular at $5 round trip.
