The older coaches will just retire soon instead of dealing with this new system. I mean, why bother ...

Well beings Dabo will be the Alabama coach when Saban retires plus he is still young he automatically will have the best chance

Based strictly off age, the obvious answer is Kirby. I don't think Jimbo will win another one, I think Kelly wins two MAX before he retires, and I think Dabo will take the Bama job, be underwhelming and disappear. So you are going to get the exact answer to this question you want, which is your coach.

It's too difficult to predict without knowing how all the changes CFB is undergoing are going to play out. Who knows what the schedules will be?

Kirby 3
Dabo 2
Jimbo 2

Not sure why Kelly is even in the discussion until he gets 1.

UGA fan thinks Kirby is the best coach who isn't Saban, more at 11.

Whoever takes the Bama job after Saban.

I hope y'all get another Shula. No fanbase needs to be brought down to Earth more.

Obviously not Brian Kelly. He is 60 years old and has maybe 6 or 7 years left to coach. He is in the same conference as Saban and Smart. I know LSU has a history of making mediocre coaches into champions (Orgeron and Miles), but this feels like a mistake. Kelly just doesn't fit. Feels like Gerry DiNardo 2.0.

So let's get down to the real question: Smart or Swinney? Smart is 46 and Swinney is 52. They both have some years left. Swinney is in the easier conference and has one more natty that Kirby already. All signs would appear to point to Swinney. But I just think Swinney is going to not play this new era of the transfer portal and NIL the right way. I think Smart will adapt to survive/thrive. Plus when Saban retires I think Kirby pulls in all the top recruits. I think Smart retires with one more Natty than Swinney.

I'm not even going to really consider Jimbo Fisher. His natty was a fluke. And he coaches at Texas 8&4 now.

Kirby.

First of all, he's only 1 behind Dabo.

Second, he's a bit younger than Dabo.

Third, Clemson's ACC membership is a short term advantage, but a long term liability. Great players want to play against top competition; they want to be where the action is. The action isn't in the ACC. Additionally, the revenue gap is eventually going to put Clemson at a decided disadvantage when it comes to budgeting for everything from recruiting to the number of staff and their salaries.

Brian Kelly isn’t winning a National Title.

Smirby Kart would be my guess. I think he has another 1-2 in him, plus he's still relatively young.

No way Dabo gets another.

the correct answer is the bama fans that Saban has made better people with his trickle down winning.

Grand Valley State does not count for purposes of this discussion. That would be like saying the arena league passing leader has more career passing yards than Tom Brady. Technically correct, but no one views if that way.

Without looking it up, can you name a single player on his Grand Valley State teams or any of the teams he beat to win those "championships"? Any coach he went up against? FFS we are not even talking about FCS. Division 2 programs have 36 scholarships a year.

It's like you guys think Bama is going to just roll over when Saban retires. You are likely going to be in for a big surprise if that's what you're hanging your hat on. We know how to do this and have been doing it for a very long time. We'll see.

Once Nick leaves it’s gonna be another 20 years of Bama looking for the next Saban. Just like what happened after the Bear left. Sad
