Who retires with more nattys: Kirby Smart, Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, or Brian Kelly?

Obviously not Brian Kelly. He is 60 years old and has maybe 6 or 7 years left to coach. He is in the same conference as Saban and Smart. I know LSU has a history of making mediocre coaches into champions (Orgeron and Miles), but this feels like a mistake. Kelly just doesn't fit. Feels like Gerry DiNardo 2.0.

So let's get down to the real question: Smart or Swinney? Smart is 46 and Swinney is 52. They both have some years left. Swinney is in the easier conference and has one more natty that Kirby already. All signs would appear to point to Swinney. But I just think Swinney is going to not play this new era of the transfer portal and NIL the right way. I think Smart will adapt to survive/thrive. Plus when Saban retires I think Kirby pulls in all the top recruits. I think Smart retires with one more Natty than Swinney.

I'm not even going to really consider Jimbo Fisher. His natty was a fluke. And he coaches at Texas 8&4 now.

It’s between Kirby and Dabo. Zero chance Kelly or Jimbo win more than 2

The unanswered question about Smart is, can he sustain running a program at a championship level now that he's won one? Many coaches have climbed that mountain, but few have demonstrated the ability to stay there.

Dabo. But I don't think either of them will win another one.

Maybe I should’ve thrown Lane Kiffin into the mix?

It's the first time LSU has hired a Yankee.

Who can forget noted Cajuns like Nick Saban and Les Miles?

Part of me thinks that Kiffin would NEVER get that job because it's too big for him. But the other part of me thinks that he might, only because whoever follows Saban will never live up to expectations and they could hire him as a fall guy to bridge the gap.

Kiffin and Ole Miss are perfect for each other. He's never going to win a Championship there, but he will win just enough to keep the fans and brass happy. His shtick works well at a place like that, but he couldn't handle a Georgia, LSU, Alabama-level job imo.

Brian Kelly also has one more national championship than Smart and Fisher.

Of these, I bet it would Smart. I think he has the best chance to get more.

The way I see it, by the time Saban retires in 5-10 years, Kelly and Jimbo won’t be too far behind. Kirby and Dabo will still be in their 50s.

Fisher ain't winning one
Kelly won't win two
Smart has a good shot at another
Dabo probably won't win another

So Dabo and Smart will have 2

I know winning a natty isn’t easy, but who else will win Nattys for the next 20 years? James Franklin?
