State fans love stickers and shirts though. I wouldn't read as much into that as you are

Nothing wrong with that btw, it's just true

You haven't been in MS in a minute, I'd guess

Which OM fan didn't have an "O the COACH" sticker?

You can't count the HYDR stickers on vehicles on I55

State fans spend their money on garbage like State license plates and decals. Same for LSU fans.

You seldom see Mississippi fans outside of the state because no one actually takes their degrees seriously. Hell most people in the country have never even heard of ole miss. I remember being in Monterey, California a number of years back and a friend of mine had on an ole miss t shirt, people were asking him what was "Ole' (pronounced olay) Miss?"

The main reason is I think a large percentage of ole miss grads from Mississippi move to Nashville, Dallas, Atlanta, etc..
This is true. I moved to Dallas and am constantly surprised how many Ole Miss fans are around here. Sometimes Ole Miss seems as if it a regional school.

I know, right? What really gets me is when I have an Ole Miss shirt or hat on in nearly every place I've ever been in this hemisphere, and as far flung as NYC, the wine country and the British Virgin Islands, people walk up to me and say "Hobby Lobby!"

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

It means education has gone to hell in a hand basket since we let the corporations take over with advertising. I did not realize Hobby Lobby had gotten that big yet tho?

Among SEC schools in in-town Atlanta neighborhoods, Ole Miss is fairly-well represented. More so than LSU/MSU/Ark/A&M/etc. Probably more than Tennessee and South Carolina too.

I think a fair number of kids in our area went to Ole Miss because it had good greek life and SEC culture and was accessible (and their families didn't balk at paying out of state tuition for Ole Miss). They've since come back and have their own young families.

Out in the suburbs you see more LSU and Tennessee and whatnot than Ole Miss, IMO.

State is mainly the people's college. Friendly accepting people. Better overall sports programs of course, doesn't hurt. Ole miss people are more arrogant and still live in the 50/60's lots of racism.

It's pathetic how you actually believe this.

Had this happen in Florence, Italy. I was stunned. Happened in Cincinnati not long ago too.

Truth hurts, might be the reasoning behind State having more fans.

I think the debate comes down to personal preference. I favor College Baseball, BBQ, and playing golf. All 3 of which State and the Golden Triangle area does better than Ole Miss and Oxford.
