I could care less about someone's personal sex life. It's none of my business. Now, not fielding a good defense or allegedly getting into a verbal spat with an NCAA investigator. That's what upsets me.

re: does Luke get fired

No, I don't think so. If it's clear that his recruiting classes can't contribute and improve the team, then he'll be gone. Now, whether that'll happen or not, we'll see. He's been coaching with several liabilities and I'm not sure any coach would do too much better with this squad. They'll most likely give him one more year at least. If they run him off too quick, what talented coach would want the job?

re: Ole Miss Chancellor Resigns

I don't speak for all, but sports aside, compared to the last two chancellors he doesn't look to have done as well. Under Khayat and Jones, enrollment increased and academic standing improved. I don't think these same factors have significantly improved as much under Vitter. As far as his politics, he did some things that pissed the conservatives off, but that's not going to change no matter who we hire.
Good grief! Why not just sit back and see what happens. All programs except maybe Alabama with Saban ebb and flow. Ole Miss has gotten rid of the racist symbols and can now compete for the type of athlete other programs attract. We'll possibly change a few coaches, build up the program and win some games. It'll be fun. Ole Miss has tasted winning and will be back. Oxford and Ole Miss is an attractive location and the program can bring in good players. We're just 13 down right now and maybe we didn't have as well a selection of defensive coaches that we wanted. Sure, we got embarrassed by maybe one of the greatest Bama teams ever, but they are going to do the same to some other teams. We all need to relax, remember it's just a game and enjoy what's left of the season.

And those graphs and charts would show that Trump did indeed inherent an economy in decent shape. As evidenced by the past two years it obviously still had more room to grow and may continue to grow. However to pretend like Trump inherited an economic wasteland and has created miracles in the market is objectively false. Reality is Trump has overseen the continuation of steady economic and job growth that was already occurring during Obama’s second term.

This is a fairly accurate statement. Also, I think the economy will continue to improve for the next few months, but look for a downturn later in 2019.

Are there any economic trends that arent continuations from Obamas tenure? Unemployment and the stock market are following existing trends. Im sure others exist but it would be interesting to see.

I don't think the stock market is as consistent as it was under President Obama. It was more of a slow steady rise under the former President. It's much more volatile under President Trump. Also, everyone likes to focus on the debt and overlook the budget deficit, but Obama kept the budget deficit fairly flat during a recessionary period while President Trump is massively increasing the deficit. Due to Obama, we were set to slow the increase in the GOP debt, but Trump didn't do that, he's adding to it. We are now growing the economy with borrowed money.

The main reason is I think a large percentage of ole miss grads from Mississippi move to Nashville, Dallas, Atlanta, etc..
This is true. I moved to Dallas and am constantly surprised how many Ole Miss fans are around here. Sometimes Ole Miss seems as if it a regional school.
Ole Miss has a two star running back that no major program wanted. He may have even been a consolation signing due to Ole Miss losing out on another student athlete late in the recruiting season, but he's on the team now and may be an exciting addition to the SEC. Keep a watch on him. His name is Tylan Knight. Most programs passed on him due to his size. He could possibly be the best football player in Mississippi last year and a difference maker. Of course, he could be a flop too, but it doesn't appear that way right now.

Like a man. (Sanctions etc) or you going to take Bama or State down too?

Currently, I have not seen anything about Alabama in the Rebel Rags court case. Just, Mullen, Stricklin, Sheridan and the NCAA. If the judge rules the NCAA transcripts and investigation proceedings will be made public, a whole lot of changes in the Ole Miss/NCAA saga could rapidly take place.

So who knocks off Bama first?

I say Georgia. They'll beat Alabama in Atlanta this year.
It's true. The State game was not one of his better games. On the very first play that wasn't a penalty, Lodge had gotten behind the defender and if the ball had been put on the money, he probably would have scored. He also missed Lodge for another touchdown later in the game. Also, who knows what Ta'amu was thinking on the interception? He did throw some good balls, but on that day State was just not a very good team. Usually by that time of the year, the least banged up team is the better team and we just had more depth than State last year. Ta'amu will be a good QB this year, but the State game was not one of his stellar efforts.
If our linebackers improve, Ole Miss will be a very good team. If the linebackers don't improve, Ole Miss could be one of the worst teams in the conference. Last year they overran the play a lot or were out of place, and when they didn't, they weren't as physical as they needed to be. Ole Miss should be a complete SEC upper caliber team if the LB's improve. They have good players on the defensive line and the defensive backs are good. The offense should be more than adequate to compete with the better teams in the SEC. Of course, as with any team except maybe Georgia or Alabama, injuries could determine how well they play.

re: Ole Miss could win 8 games.

The difference between 3 wins and 9 wins will be the linebacker development. No one knows how that will work out, so to guess the final record is fanciful speculation. One thing for sure, Ole Miss has improved the QB position and have possibly the best receivers in the nation. They should be fun to watch.
From what I understand, Pruitt and Morris would take the job if offered. However, why would Ole Miss offer as long as the team continued to develop? Why start over with new coaches and a new system when there are some pretty good players returning? Ole Miss has the chance to be very competitive next year and the current staff is made up of very good recruiters. With the sanctions being pretty much our self-imposed with an additional bowl ban, Ole Miss is not in that bad of shape. It would be counterproductive to change personnel.

Self imposed plus one year bowl ban

I really thought it would be the self-imposed with four or five extra scholarship reductions. Didn't think it would be the self-imposed with an additional year bowl ban. Ole Miss has twelve seniors who could transfer without sitting out but I doubt if they want to. The Rebs have a better coach than most realize and they can be very good for the next two years. It'll feel good to beat State's butt again in Oxford. After 2019, it depends on recruiting. That starts now. Happy we're not Tennessee!
Don't think he will leave. He's a good coach but has issues retaining staff and has had disappointing recruiting years. State fans like him and they are happy with anything over six wins a year. Florida is a harsher and more demanding. He needs to stay in Starkville.
"...penalties announced as early as next week, but within next three weeks. Accepting the one year bowl ban, 25 schollies taken overall and some other ineffectual stuff."

Delta, you may be right but I heard anywhere from accepting self imposed sanctions to 21 overall scholarships. Ole Miss has already reduced eleven, so that would leave on ten more reductions to go. Also, from what I'm hearing, the bowl ban will only be the one year Ole Miss has self imposed. Also, due to the COI hearing, there is NCAA smoke coming out of Starkville. Of course, it's all rumor and nobody really knows the exact details. Ole Miss is feeling confident that the program is not going to get hammered. We'll see.
I'm happy to see them 3-0. Good for them.
State has a very good QB and the defense is better than expected. Yes, they can beat you.
"I'm hearing Ole Miss gets a slap on the wrist and the rant melts"

No, Ole Miss will have serious sanctions. It'll most likely be the self-imposed sanctions with a few extra scholarships thrown in. Academic fraud is serious. Barney may also get a show cause. The one-year bowl ban will most likely stay, but don't look for more than that. The punishment likely won't be as bad as what's being described in social media, but these self-imposed sanctions are not a slap on the wrist. I understand the level of separation between the COI and the NCAA Enforcement is continuing to grow, but nobody knows for sure what's going to happen.
