The reality is that is where this is headed to. You will see either one mega conference or maybe 2.

Somebody will have to make room for the other teams. ND, Michigan, PSU, OSU....etc

I can see teams like Ark, MSU, Ole Miss, UT, UK, Mizzou and Vandy being pushed out.

Nobody should be left behind.

Especially not Arkansas.

That won't matter.

The name will change and we will walk. That's coming.

The name SEC may survive for the Ark, MSU, Ole Miss...etc They will add some teams, but a mega conference is going to happen because football is in a free fall.

The NCAA has no teeth, the NIL is here... it is the only out.

And I think it will be better football for all involved.

I'm sorry but in the modern era no one is getting removed from a conference that is thriving.

If there is a mega conference that takes away from a lot of markets that will lose interest in football and in the end be less money. If there really was a top 20 super league then ESPN would lose money in the long run although each team will make more

New here, but you are absolutely correct. At some point, with all the money changes coming down, we will have one conference with all the bluebloods likely sponsored by the NFL. You will have Ohio State, meatchicken, Clemson, FSU, ND, maybe USC that need to fit into that conference.

It will result at one point in some of the teams in all conferences who are not pulling eyeballs getting left behind. Not sure how it happens, and how soon, but it will.

Based on what? You are kidding yourself if you think a new conference with it's own governing body is not coming.

Just like the SEC would never allow Tulane in, why would the major brands want South Carolina?

What cash and value over ND do you have? Nothing.

I hope Arkansas gets left behind. I'm going to enjoy the super powerful SEC but once they go down to 32 teams I would rather be with the have nots. Part of what makes CFB special is the large amount of teams in the field. It's boring with only a small number. It's a big reason why I don't like pro sports.

I don’t think anyone gets pushed out.

Definitely not Arky, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Kentucky brings in bank in basketball.

It's all about the Benjamins in the Mega Conference world. Tennessee and Missouri should be safe because they have large fanbases and markets. Kentucky is probable but not a lock, the basketball value is huge but this is all about football.

Vandy no. State and Ole Miss are in trouble. Arkansas ia sadly on the bubble but probably makes it.

Essentially look at the Top 35 programs in terms of revenue, markets, etc. and it gives you a good idea. Some schools with great tradition will get screwed.

Charter membership means nothing in the end as it likely won't even be called the SEC at that point. It's basically a new club of the big dollar schools making an NFL Lite league. That's part of why I thought schools like State and Vandy should have fought the Texas/OU expansion. Once you make the decision to go all in for dollars it's very hard to go back. It's not really anything new but it is just continuing to evolve, NIL was a major shift as well.

And which one brings in the major money? Take a survey. Look around. How many articles do you need to see.

Viewership is down and the NCAA screwed it all up. Nobody wants to watch a sport where it's one sided.

That's what we have. No offense to the MSU's etc Ark... etc but they get steamed rolled every year by the bigs in recruiting and therefore the field.

That's real. And they are looking to address it.

The Benjamins won't be there if the product is a shell of what the majority of fans want. It's funny to me how you think the smaller schools will just take their beating and still play the upper echelon of teams. You kick folks out, there will be nobody to play.

I kinda think that’s one of the reasons all this is happening. Feels like ESPN and the SEC are looking to shake things up

Y’all are idiots if you think State and Ole Miss are getting pushed out of the SEC. The Dawgs won a championship a few weeks ago and Ole Miss is one of the most recognizable college brands on a national level. Both schools are good/great at baseball and have had moderate success in football over the past two decades. Both have also fielded some good basketball teams recently.

The big schools need the small schools just as much as the small schools need the big schools. One group doesn’t survive without the other.

I could see more than that... maybe 24-28

No they won't. They will make more. Not only that, the former leagues will still play and have TV contracts with ESPN.

I could see CBS... FOX..

Let's look at the SEC with out Bama, UGA, UF, TAMU, LSU. That's a more competitive league.

New league Bama, UGA, UF, TAMU, LSU, Tx, OU, OSU, ND, Michigan, Clemson, FSU, Miami, Oregon, USC, etc..

It's also more competitive.
