You realize that Indiana is one of the largest Protestant states in the country and that Louisiana largest group is Catholic?

Also that Baptist make up around 30% nationally people who Identify with religion and that almost 50% of those Baptist live in the NE and MW?

The era of expanding for some population center is kind of dead. What drives media rights value now is brand value (eyeballs). It’s why SEC schools in small population states are worth significant more then schools like Northwestern, Rutgers, Temple, UT-San Antonio , Houston, Miami, USF, UCF etc….

Purdue would be a top tier SEC school. Acceptance rates aren’t everything. Very big and loyal fan base.

As far as Virginia goes, Tech has the biggest fan base, not Virginia. Sidewalk alumni in Virginia are mostly Tech fans. Virginia struggles to sell out home football games. Tech doesn’t.
