The exception of course would be Notre Dame, a non-AAU institution the Big Ten twice pursued during the past 15 years.

your point is what. I’m just telling you how ppl look at this bunch on the rant not necessary any of it is anything I think. some of the Georgia fans are really struggling with that entire approach but your no dummy I know you can follow

You are an idiot.

Virginia is viewed as the original great American state and houses some of the best colleges in the world. Florida is home to some of the world’s wealthiest billionaires and most expensive real estate in the U.S. Georgia is home to the third most Fortune 500 companies (from CNN to Delta), has become the second largest film hub after California, strong schools (Emory, GT, UGA), etc. Texas has two of the country’s five largest cities and is home to the most Fortune 500 companies and ranks third in billionaires (cities like Dallas make anywhere in Indiana appear to be Redneckville). NC has some of the greatest schools in the country (Duke, UNC, Davidson, Wake) and is becoming a tech hub. Etc, etc.

The stigma you’re implying is confined to states like Alabama and Mississippi.

Frankly, the ENTIRE Midwest suffers that stigma outside of Illinois and Michigan. And even those states are dying as Chiraq and Detroit decline into shite holes.

The only relative entity in Indiana is Notre Dame - which is composed of East Coast kids (mostly Northeasters and many Southerners) who view the unavoidable need to live in Indiana as a miserable byproduct of attending ND.

There’s a reason why GA outranks IN by virtually every metric.

The South is reputed to have beautiful women, amazing cities and architecture, breathtaking scenery (from beaches to mountains, neither of which exists in the Midwest), and the country’s most hospitable business environment. The Midwest has vexing accents and shite weather in dying cities.

All of the Northeast’s elite appear to moving down South, whether to grow their business, spend winter weekends or sailing, or play polo. NO ONE is moving to the Midwest.

This board thinking UVA makes zero sense

Va Tech has a much much bigger base of fans spreading from UVA, WVU, NC.

Va Tech would also much easily fit in with rest of sec.

UNC is the biggest take from the ACC bar none.

If the model is all about expanding into new states, areas and drumming up the most revenue it's Va Texh and UNC for the next round of expansion

I have an undergraduate degree from the Ivy League, a masters from Michigan, and a professional degree from UGA. I ended up taking some pre-req undergraduate courses at UGA in between the Masters and professional degree. In my personal experience, the undergraduate neurobiology course at UGA was the hardest class I ever took.

Also, college football (and athletics in general) would be far better with 4 strong conferences where teams actually get to play one another often, and then feed their best into the playoff against the others and the best of the rest in any given year. I think the ACC ends up staying where it is or perhaps adding a couple more schools like West Virginia and another school or few. The Best of the remaining Big 12 and PAC 12 will end up merging as well.

UVA is a charter member of the ACC. VT is not…they have only been in the conference 20 years or so. Much easier to get.

I’m not really concerned which schools specifically we need to get from North Carolina and Virginia, but we need to focus on those two states.

ECU is in a prime market with a ton of upside. It already has a 50,000 seat football stadium, a loyal fanbase, with decent secondary fan support. They would be the second best option in North Carolina. They would be a natural rival for South Carolina, an instate rival for UNC, and would fit better than most.

UNC would be the more natural rival for South Carolina as opposed to ECU. We left the ACC bc of Tobacco Road politics related to UNC. Bad blood between the two and some old timers who are old enough to have been around when we left the ACC will tell you they dislike UNC more than they do Clemson.

Let it be known that if both ECU and UNC, or either one by themselves, end up in the SEC that South Carolina is THE Carolina.

Now that made my laugh. Love that!! Yes I’m my opinion y’all would definitely be THE Carolina.!!!!!! For the record I think I can speak for most Kentucky fans by telling you we despise UNC.

They will say the same about State as well.

That said if I was pulling a NC school, it would be State. Their fanbase would just be better for it than UN-Carolina

I'm not sure why many of you don't think the UNC fanbase is right for the SEC. It's basically just frat boys and country boys, similar to current SEC fanbases.

Because NC St fans actually seem to care about football.

Inside Carolina's premium football board may be the most active fan board on 247. It has a lot more threads than the basketball board.
