People thought Texas would look down their noses at the SEC. Then they came. Money talks.

I mean if you want to talk about academics, Vandy, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, and Missouri are AAU.
Georgia isn’t AAU but is ranked in the top 50 according to US News and Report. UGA is ranked the 16th best public university by the same publication.

Programs rise and fall. The best strategy for long term viability is to add schools where the large population centers are located.

More expansion is inevitable. I hope we add UNC, UVA, Clemson, Florida St., and call it a day.

Would also be okay with adding UNC, UVA, Notre Dame, and Florida St.

8? I don’t think you are very good at counting. Also your states are dying. People are moving out of them.

I'm already counting on another state. It is only a matter of which one and when.

So you must also be counting New York even though you don’t have a presence there.

UNC is not leaving Duke, I’m also not sure UVA would be able to leave without a VT landing spot.

NCSU is a better SEC fit AND even though some will say absolutely not, ECU is what Va Tech.

It all depends on how big do the confs want to be.

You’re better off with Virginia and tech. You’re not taking UNC without the other 1? 2? 3? Schools

ECU and Gamecock people get along great. We played them in the 1990's when UNC wouldn't and we both love college baseball. That part of NC is one of the few places you can go in a Gamecock shirt and get a thumbs up. And I absolutely love the ECU alums down here.

NC State and Va Tech are much better cultural fits than UVA or UNC, which are both better BIG, and ACC of course, fits in every way.

NP, we pull Duke and VT into the fold.

VT has the best marine engineering school probably anywhere. And Duke would be kissing up with Vanderbilt and has great basketball. Perfect harmony...

Neither UNC or UVA is a Big Ten cultural fit AT ALL. Have you ever been to these places?

Did I miss something? Are people not watching SEC sports? The last thing the SEC needs is to bring in mediocre teams to keep up with the Big 10 or whatever.
