I'd venture to say nearly all of the SEC schools are predominantly conservative, it's just that the liberals are far more outspoken, thus making it seem as if they outnumber the conservative bunch.
Bama has more conservatives than liberals, but if you read the Crimson White and Tuscaloosa News' comment section, you'd think the entire campus/city was liberal... that and the fact that many conservatives wouldn't know how to turn a computer on even if someone did it for them.

If I saw it right, only like 3-5 counties went for Obama in Missouri: Kansas City area, St. Louis area, and Columbia
Yep. Only 4 counties went for Obama and they are the four from St. Louis, KC, and Columbia. Springfield was the only "large" city that voted republican.
If anyone is wondering here are similar maps for other SEC states.
Alabama
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas

I do believe that SCAR is, by far, the least liberal.
Vandy is, without a doubt, the most liberal.

Well every college is pretty liberal nowadays.
MSU is not. I think I may have met 5 liberal people my entire 3 years at State. I've never even seen or heard of a gay person.
And Arkansas is actually pretty liberal...NWA is getting extremely liberal.

Urban schools more liberal
Rural schools more conservative
Maybe?

Lolz. Someone doesn't know much about Vandy.
Student body or institutionally? If the latter, Vanderbilt. Vanderbillt has the most left-wing, political correctness run-a-muck, anti-freedom of association policies in the conference (and among the worst offenders nationally). Vanderbilt will not recognize any student organization which has a requirement that a candidate for office in the organization adhere to the organization's core belief's or principles in order to qualify for election. As a result several student groups, mainly Catholic or evangelical, have been forced off campus

Didn't read thread but the OM campus would surprise a lot of you bigots. It's extremely liberal considering it's north MS.

where does Arkansas fit in?
As a school, the University of Arkansas is pretty damn liberal. As a state - I'd say Arkansas is pretty conservative.
Aren't all colleges pretty damn liberal?

Top 3 for sure. I can't imagine many other SEC schools matching. That being said... :casty :

Vanderbilt is just as full of "legacy, Old South" students as any Alabama, UGA, Ole Miss, ect. fraternity
this is bull shite. comparing bama and ole miss to vandy as far as student body is incredibly fricked up thinking.

I'm tempted to agree with the old man. South Carolina as a state is one of the top 4 most conservative states out there. I think by extension USC is also not liberal. Maybe more so than A&M.
I'd say most liberal (and probably not very amongst all universities) may be Georgia.

I would say its a coin flip between Missouri and Florida. Florida bc of the northeast and south Florida influence. Vandy has to be in top 3.
Texas A&M and South Carolina has to be the most conservative. Middle of the row schools I would say LSU, tenn and perhaps bama

No way. Spending time on other campuses, especially some in *cough*kansas*cough* and you'll realize what a liberal school is. Mizzou is not even remotely liberal when it comes to universities, especially when looking at the student body.
