Yeah, I'm surprised Tuscaloosa actually went Red given the black population and the liberal, white population. I forgot there's a significant portion of people in the rest of the county, which is pretty redneck. Tuscaloosa isn't really redneck at all, but you don't have to go far to find it

Missouri has leaned republican for the last 4 elections in a row

I wouldn't go that far. Missouri is the definition of a "swing" state. One of each party for US Senate. Gov is a Dem and it voted the last two times for a Repub Pres. I'd say its about right in the middle.

I agree, always seemed to remind me of Baahhston, Mass. while eating bobby q there for some reason??

Haha, I've never thought of it in comparison to Boston. It can have a bit of a Bohemian/hippy-ish influence, Fayetville, at least. Fun times.

If I saw it right, only like 3-5 counties went for Obama in Missouri: Kansas City area, St. Louis area, and Columbia

I'd agree Vanderbilt would be most liberal. Could not get over the complete body tats & multiple piercings of every other student when we were there last. Love Nashville, though.

Thats correct, but they are still in the state and thus sending students to the states flag ship university. Take out those cities and you are left with a tiny state.

That was a fun day.
I think the guy even was going to start his speech with a joke, and didn't even get two words out. We were ruthless.

Ha yeah.
The guy was an idiot. He was burning a flag because some drunk hippy took down the huge American flag in front of the memorial tower, burned it, and then was arrested because it was a felony (the flag cost LSU $3000 I think?)

It didn't help it was finals week and we all needed to blow off steam either.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but that is totally a false comparison. You can't compare universities in Nashville or Columbia to universities in Starkville and Athens by using county election results. The later two are small towns. Nothing is going on in those two towns. The universities dominate the economy. Nashville and Columbia have other factors that bring people to the city. For instance, state government.

Florida is pretty close if not the top. The city of Gainesville is redneck as heck outside of the school itself though. Students aren't really redneck though.

I gotta apologize, I didn't watch your video, I was just in too big of a hurry cramming for finals and making a ham sandwich.
