What are some all-time series results involving SEC programs that surprise you?

For me, it's Tennessee vs. LSU. Tennessee is 20-9-3 against LSU all-time. Furthermore, Tennessee is 2-6 against LSU since 2000. So up until 2000, Tennessee had an 18-3-3 lead in their series against LSU. To put that in perspective, Tennessee has losing records against Bama, Auburn, Florida and they're only one game above .500 against Georgia. Tennessee has struggled against all of the other top SEC football programs except LSU who they have completely dominated.

It surprises me how close Auburn is able to play programs that are vastly superior to it in nature over the years. Within what, 8 games of Bama and just 1-2 of Georgia of a combined 150+ meetings combined.
Auburn is tGOAT thorn in the side.

LSU has spent more weeks ranked in the AP poll than any team in the SEC besides Alabama.
That kind of shocks me.

That only surprises people too young to remember the last millennium.

Kentucky 4 Arkansas 3. All since 92.

Auburn being within 9 games of Bama is beyond bizarre. Not playing for about 40 years in the period where Bama was largely dominant and they weren't has a lot to do with it. But obviously they tend to play above their heads in the game.
Outside the SEC, Texas' dominant record over OU is weird, as is Michigan's record over Blowhio State (albeit OSU's put a big dent in that this century).

Meh. I think his goal is to troll both LSU and Tennessee in the guise of a question.

yeah so does playing defacto away games at legion field. series would be closer without that.

Lol Auburn is fortunate to have not played Bama for those 40 years, or the series would look a lot like the Bama-LSU series.

I'm a Georgia grad, and while I'll take Georgia's program over Auburn's, I think its a bit of a stretch to say that Georgia is "vastly superior" to Auburn's.
Georgia is more consistent for sure. Auburn is the epitome of a roller coaster. But at least in my lifetime, while Auburn's lows are much lower, their highs have also been much higher than Georgia's.
Since 1970:
SEC Championships: Auburn 7, Georgia 6
National Championships: Georgia 1, Auburn 1
Top 25 Finishes: Georgia 27, Auburn 27
Top 10 Finishes: Georgia 15, Auburn 14
Top 5 Finishes: Georgia 6, Auburn 6
Head-to-head record: Tied 22-22-2
It is difficult to get much closer than that.
Every single statistic above is tied, except for Georgia having one additional Top 10 finish, yet Auburn having one more SEC Championship.
Auburn has 9 losing seasons to Georgia's 5 though.
So again... to each his own. Do you want consistent success? Or do you want a more boom or bust type of program? It all evens out in the end.
But I think its difficult for anyone to make a case that one of these two programs is vastly superior to the other. They are about as even as any two programs can be.

This surprises people born or started watching football after 2000.
For me, the surprise is it isn't like 25-4 in UT's favor.

Ya this is really sad and just look at the three years we played before A&M joined the SEC

Ole miss claims to have a winning record in Tiger Stadium.
Easy to do when you play there 21 years straight

Might want to check their record against Vanderbilt and ask Vandy if they feel the same way about the AU-Vandy series.

I was picking on the AU-VU series a moment ago, but honestly most programs have that one opponent who played them a lot when their own program was down and the other program was up, leading to some degree of disparity in the series. There really isn't that much to it other than a fluke in the years that the games were scheduled.
The Mississippi schools still appear dominant against Florida to this day, while on the other hand UF was able to completely turn around their series with most of the Big Six schools in the last 25 years.

I am a little surprised that we have a winning record versus Tennessee.
When I was in school, our first SEC game was usually Tennessee in late September. We always finished with UF, UGA and Bama. Rarely played LSU before divisions.
