Our "go to" hitter is a football walk on who hasn't played baseball in two years and was offered no D1 schollies in any sport. It's just a collection of walk ons and over the mountain kids who can afford to pay their own way. We recruit to baseball based on your economic situation and ability for your family to pay, not talent alone.
We have many kids who live at home and commute. Some baseball players we have had have drove to school every day from as far away as Vestavia so they didn't have to pay for housing. Most find friends who will put them up. Heard many baseball players talk about sleeping on a couch for 4 years.

Alabama won't score. We need to bite the bullet and have a crappy year so that we can get rid of our clown coach.
...and coaching isn't the problem. No coach worth anything is gonna take 11.7 schollies. Look what AU's coach did at Oklahoma. He made OU elite. He can't beat anybody now and it's not because he's a bad coach. Until this situation is rectified we have no chance. Zero. I don't care if Tommy Lasorda is coaching. Just a fact. If LSU loses a game they should can Paul on the pitchers mound in front of everybody.

LSU 4
Bama 1
LSU 9
Bama 1
LSU 8
Bama 2
Honestly, we don't need to be on the same field. You would have a much better challenge playing Southern probably.

I noticed you left out the final verdict in the case. In case you didn't know I posted it. Wally Butts was compensated as well.
As for UAB, couldn't care less what they do. If by some crazy scheme what you say happened. I don't care. I wouldn't give UAwannaB the sweat off my scrotum anyway. They need us, we don't need them.
re: UF with the best DL in tSEC in 2016?
Posted by Roses of Crimson on 3/15/16 at 1:35 pm
Nope. Best DL is Bama. Allen, Williams and Anderson are all back and were extremely disruptive. These 3 are all possible first rounders next year.

Bama vs USC big time

Bama vs UT

Nowadays, If we can win one it's a huge accomplishment.
With the current schollie setup Bama should not be a threat to LSU baseball within 7 or 8 runs. LSU should take this opp to get some young players some experience.

re: What is your favorite opposing SEC town to visit and why?
Posted by Roses of Crimson on 3/15/16 at 9:38 am
In order (excluding Tuscaloosa)
Oxford-great southern town
College Station-coolest fans I've encountered in the SEC
Starkville-See reason for Ole Miss
Nashville-Love Nashville period. Not too big and still has an old school southern feel.
Athens when I was a 20 something-You get older you hate the place.
Auburn would be if it wasn't Auburn
USCe is my absolute favorite road trip but I don't like Columbia so that excludes it. We always stay in Charleston which is maybe the best town in America. Great golf, restaurants, weather, history. We go to the game in Columbia that morning and leave after to go back to Charleston.
UT-Not crazy about K'ville so it excludes it but love going every other year and staying in Pigeon Forge up on the mountain. Absolutely beautiful.
Don't care for any others

Can't deal with an agent prior to declaring. Period. All games are vacated that said player participated in. Even meeting with an agent is prohibited. This would be probation city. If LSU is still currently on probation it would fall under repeat offender status also.
re: LSU people have alot of straight up hate and negativity inside of them.
Posted by Roses of Crimson on 3/14/16 at 8:26 am
They've always been quite the angry bunch. I've always said when I went to the BTR for football games all you see is 90K angry people. I thought forever it was the liquor. I know they are angry about Saban but they've always been just this side of starting a riot. Not sure what their problem is.
This quitting and taking their ball home from the NIT is par for the course. Afraid they might get embarrassed? You take that chance every time you play. LSU is slowly turning back into the loser they were pre-2000.

Meh, probably not.
RB"s are as good as their line. Wold Emmitt Smith have been Emmitt with the Falcons? How'd he do with the Cards.
All you younguns believe the skill players are all that matters. ALL that matters is the men in the trenches and we dominate the LOS. We will be fine. Probably repeat as National champs.

*outstanding running game, with not just Fournette but Guice-absolutely
*passing game was actually better than it appeared -against lesser teams. Horrible in Nov.
Lsu was 25th in total QBR last year -See above comment
*offensive line has a lot of depth -THey were not talented though. Unless they have improved two fold...
*defensive line is loaded -OK but not "loaded"
*maybe the best secondary in the country -Could be. Ours will be excellent as well.
*special teams last year were worst since 2006 - predict that they will return to the norm for a Miles-coached team =pure speculation. Not one single shred of evidence that this has improved. He just "figures" it will.

Actually Jake was a composite 3 star. I don't remember anybody having him a 4.

This. aint. happenin.
There will come a day when we can possibly upset UK again but it's not this year.
Not sure we could be UK's bench with the talent we have right now. Seriously.

As we all know, the University of Alabama has ownership of UA-Birmingham (UAB).
But, why do you guys keep trying to kill UAB's various athletics programs?
Their basketball team is 26-5 and first in their conference this year...but if it isn't "The Tide", then you couldn't give a rat's arse. "Roll Tide or Death!".
You tried to kill their football program as well.
Why doesn't the University of Alabama let these people go?
Are they your Slaves?
It is time to let UAB go guys.
UAB's good to go if they want but two things:
Medical school comes back to Ttown and the now named Birmingham University will have to build and staff its own med school. Don't be foolish and think it stays as is.
Do you seriously think UAB athletics will survive as a single entity. We subsidize millions just so they can play sports and they can create a Birmingham university but will lose whatever help they have now. Lots of people blow hot air about how UAB is stepped on. In truth, Alabama has kept that place pretty much alive athletically speaking. Free UAB did nothing to bring back football. If the flagship campus didn't want UAB to have football, they wouldn't have it. I suspect they won't in 5 years because they will keep drawing about 15K (no they didn't actually average 30K BOUGHT tickets last year) to games and that simply can't support football.

Yes, yes I'm sure we will struggle with them.

I didn't know they had one.

Lived my whole life in Alabama and never hard of a single one of ours. Doubt I will worry too much about it.
re: How Far Away is Auburn from Tennessee Territory?
Posted by Roses of Crimson on 3/10/16 at 8:23 am
Dude, I'm sorry Auburn was never in UT territory. Correlations to schools vary on what sport you're talking about. In football UT is closest to Bama.
AU, LSU, UGA correlate pretty well.
I guess if you talk about swimming you got UT. The big 3, depends on the sport.
Basketball, outside of the Barkley-Person years, AU doesn't have much to show for it. Had that brief team in 99 or 2000 but they didn't do much postseason but neither has UT.

Dam, it's just mind boggling to look at UK and what they've done in bball. I think they have more SEC tourney championships that the rest of the SEC combined.
