They'll likely stay in-house with Davis. Williams
probably pushed for his chief assistant as his replacement before announcing retirement.
Main impediment to a Davis selection though, could be that the Williams regime has plunged
downhill the past couple of seasons, leaving a desire to sweep the room clean.

Kansas just gave Self a lifetime contract, LOL. Getting ready to be nailed by the NCAA and you give the guy leverage for when you have to fire him. Plus, you could have looked at Cal and Kentucky to see how unwise lifetime contracts are.

I got Chris Webber. He has already brought UNC one NC in his lifetime. Sure their fans love him.

It will be Wes Miller who has done a great job at UNC-Greensboro.... He played for Williams in the mid-2000's.

Rest assured that Wade would be considered as clean and as pure as freshly fallen snow if they hired him. Vitale would suddenly be slobbering over him too.
I know Alabama fans like to give Auburn a hard time about the whole family thing but Auburn fans don't hold a candle to UNC fans when it comes to the way UNC fans deify the UNC family and doing things the "Carolina way". A couple of UNC fans made the mistake on one of their message boards of suggesting Oates would be a strong candidate if they go outside the family and pointed to Alabama football hiring Saban as a way that it can work out incredibly well. You would have thought the two posters suggested hiring the head football coach that got SMU the death penalty with the way most of the board reacted. Holier than thou self righteous elitism isn't a strong enough description to describe the arrogant, self righteous lack of self awareness many UNC fans exude. Not only do most UNC fans think their s### doesn't stink, they think it smells like a fresh bouquet of red roses. Hopefully their AD and administration share the same attitude and agree that no one outside the UNC family is close enough to the UNC family's pristine standard to be worthy of the job.
