re: Is there bad blood between Mulkey and Wade?

No clue if she has been told about reduction of funds or not. To me it seems she is disappointed of timing of hire and all the reporters and high up school officials being back home focusing on Wade instead of her team. Don’t think she needs the validation or anything but she loves her girls and thinks it’s disrespectful to her girls for their to be less media and school officials therefore support them is my take. If she wants to coach five more years I’m not sure it matters if they lower NIL cause she will raise it herself. Heck as soon as she got here and saw the coaches offices and stuff we’re not good she raised over a million in her first month here

He has settled in and bounced back nicely. Would be big to get us through six cause it looked early like he would be lucky to go 4

I remember that he was so young as a coach that he struggled some with the balance between offense and defensive focus to where we were great offensively for few years but couldn’t stop anyone so he focused much more on defense the next year and it was really good but offense took step back. That balance will be perfected over time and he will have to adjust it at times depending on the team. Looking forward to being more competitive and making the tournament consistently. Even if they bust one of my brackets each year cause I put them to win it all out of hope. Will still be much more fun seeing them in the tourney and being relevant again. Looking forward to seeing what he can build over time

man, the way them NC St baws was crying about wanting to sue Wade because they were convinced he has spent the last month working on his LSU roster, can't believe we don't have a set roster by now
re: I know it's unlikely but how awesome would it be to see Sam Leavitt hoop it up
Posted by Portcityblues on 3/27/26 at 10:39 am to NorthTxLSU
would be a miracle because according to some on here he won't be able to walk properly ever again from that foot injury last year.

Great news for us if he has been working on his roster here for the last month. He probably contacted some of our players about staying with him and that caused our collapse down the stretch and caused us to miss the tourney. Lol
re: When Will Wade got hired at NC State, the national media said it was a good hire

Don’t care. Watching all the videos of him getting off the plane full smiles already comfortable with the people and smiling like a kid at Christmas and big hugs instead of handshakes and all. You can tell he is home and happy and we are set up to invest in basketball again. Time will tell what the future holds but it looks promising moving forward
re: Unpopular opinion - Wade GOOD but not ELITE
Posted by Portcityblues on 3/26/26 at 7:33 pm to ellessuuuu
If they are competitive year in and year out and get consistently in top 4 or 5 in conference along with consistent tournaments then people will be happy. He is young and if he can do that I don’t see him leaving for another job. The more you make the tourney you can consistently get and retain better players and develop as a coach. Not Elite right now but is solid and all Elite coaches start somewhere. Only time will tell how good he can be and where he can get the program. I’m just glad the excitement and energy is back to at least move in a positive direction and see what happens
re: NIL Budget for Basketball

Basketball team will work concessions at football games to raise the funds. Also have a few car washes and chicken plate fundraisers scheduled. If that’s not enough they will hold signs at intersections saying they need money to make it to the tourney
re: Where are the statements from McMahon about leaving?
Posted by Portcityblues on 3/26/26 at 6:31 pm to ShreveportTiger19871
Really nothing more for him to say. He respectfully said it when season was over. He said he really appreciated the opportunity here and loved it and respected the people in AD and respects whatever decision they came to concerning his future.

being mad is one thing. Taking time out of your day for this when it's not gonna change anything? Go grab a frosty and get a life. He should have punked them and been playing the LSU fight song to drown them out and holding up his L as he walked to the plane. Could have brought his boy from McNeese to walk in front with the ghetto blaster playing the fight song.
re: What was the exit for MM since there wasn't any official LSU comments much less any media

probably walked out of his office after texting his secretary saying, I'll send for my things, and then exited through the closest door to his parking spot and then went for a McFlurry.
re: Why I am stoked about the The General returning
Posted by Portcityblues on 3/26/26 at 1:44 pm to boxcarbarney
he put a lot of work in at the beginning to get students there and to win over the fan base. i remember videos of him driving a golf cart around the first week of school and giving students rides to class and getting to know them and inviting them to come to the basketball games.

When every topic on page one is about Men's Basketball in an anticipated, exciting tone for multiple days in a row after horrible 4 year stretch.

Do they still do the SEC/ACC challenge? No brainer to send us to NC State next year if so, even though I think it used to be just the top 10 or 12 teams from year prior but that would be too good to pass up

Guess this shows it is not always about facilities anymore and its more money for roster. He knows as well as anyone that our facilities are not great yet he is leaving another program after 1 season to come back.

Glad the excitement is back and we are making a change. Really don't think Verge had anything to do with this. Not sure he has even talked to Wade. That is why they had to bring in the AD from McNeese as Wade will be under him primarily and not Verge.

I feel like Thomas, Nwoko, and Reece can all add value and contribute. With Nwoko and Reece coming off the bench.

If he were to win multiple championships they can name it whatever they want and I’m good
