UGA fans - Why do y'all underrate Aaron Murray so much?

Aaron Murray was a much better QB at UGA than Matt Stafford. It's not even close. I've had this argument with Dawg fans multiple times now and 99% of them would take Stafford over Murray in all-time UGA QB rankings.

Why is Murray so underappreciated by your fanbase?

Also, as a throwaway, I feel like Chubb gets underrated as well.

You’re hanging out with some dumb Dawg fans.

I’d say at least 90% of UGA fans think Murray was better than Stafford at UGA.

I disagree but I also went to school at UGA during the Murray era so maybe it's just my peers that don't give him the respect he should get.

Murray is overrated by most if anything. I've never heard a UGA fan prefer Stafford to him

I was told, on here, that Aaron Murray sucked because he couldn't beat ranked teams.

Murray was a far, far, far superior college player to Stafford. Those fans are dumbasses.

I am confused about how the rant feels we should feel about Aaron Murray.

Idk who the hell does that, I think you can arguably make a case he's the best QB we've had in our history. I love that dude.

In the modern era, I don't really think it's debatable.

yeah, and including all eras is virtually impossible based on the massive difference in offensive philosophies back then.

If Murray played with vangorders defenses of 01-04 or even tucker's defenses of 17-18 there's no telling how much we accomplish.

No one thinks that.
Murray was probably the best collegiate qb we’ve ever had.

Today most Georgia fans have Murry overrated to the point of worship.

Early in Murray's career, his record against ranked teams was terrible mostly due to interceptions and his own fumbles. Back then Georgia fans were highly critical but most fans forget that they ever held a negative view.

If Mark Richt had ever placed any emphasis on drafting offensive lineman, Murray would probably have an SEC title.

I don't think Murray us underappreciated by Georgia fans.

Comparing to Stafford is apples and oranges, though.

Stafford was 18 when he played as a freshman. Stafford was 20 when his college career was over (turned 21 a few months before the draft).

Murray was 20 in his redshirt freshman season. Finished as a 23 year old.

Murray is a much better QB for the Dawgs. But that is like comparing your high school football starter to a much better 8th grade prospect. Regardless of talent, the high schooler is going to be better prepared.

When Aaron Murray was allowed to speak at SEC media days he was asked his opinion of Mark Richt. Aaron said that Richt is a great coach who is going to make his players into "better players, better men, better businessmen, better husbands and better wives."

After that absurd gaff, I was thinking that Aaron should never again be in front of a microphone. Of course, he got hired by CBS.
