I think 8 is too low atp and 9 is a more realistic conservative estimate. Genuinely wouldn't be surprised by 11-1.

Faulkner liked Philo enough to bring him over from GT. And Philo doesn't need to do anything crazy to beat Auburn. I'm not saying we're going 10-2 or anything like that; Auburn is one of the worst teams on our SEC schedule.

We'll see. I don't think there's any reason for pessimism about the offense right now, but I understand that fans manage their expectations in different ways.

Go look at 27/28 draft boards. Everyone thinks Baugh, VBIII, and Wilson are studs. Has very little to do with FAU and Campbell, although they did look the part against those teams as well.

Of course, Philo is a question mark, but I trust Faulkner.

Oh, also, AU isn't that good, and we solidly have the more talented team. Yea, JHS is a tough place to play, and maybe Golesh is good, but I think there is a solid talent gap between this UF roster and this AU roster, and that has little to do with FAU and Campbell.

We very well could lose if we can't contain Brown's rushing ability and Philo turns the ball over a few times, but I'm not sure what the point of overselling AU or underselling our talent level is besides "I don't want to be hurt again."

They might be able to play 8 in the box for like one drive because their secondary would get absolutely torched if they try that all game.

VBIII and Wilson one-on-one against their mediocre secondary? Lights out.

That's a bit ridiculous. To be better than Lagway, Philo doesn't need to be ridiculously prolific; he needs to avoid braindead turnovers and stretches where he loses all touch or accuracy.

We have the horses to score on Auburn. We have, genuinely, top ten or better talent at the skill positions, as Baugh, VBIII, and Wilson are all studs who will hear their names called fairly early at the draft. Philo just needs to be a caretaker of the football.

UF has elite talent at the skill positions but has been able to get no pressure on the QB so far. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turns into a shootout.

I doubt the refs are blatantly missing a ton of real 7-second camp-outs. What's actually happening here is that most people (myself included tbh) don't pay attention to how the rule is called but are now because Oats drew attention to it, and are coming to the realization that refs are pretty lax about resetting the timer whenever a player briefly steps out of the lane.

If the NCAA wants to make the continuous wording of the rule a point of emphasis this off-season and thus call more 3-second violations, that'd be fine, but there are bigger rule issues in CBB right now. The fact that screeners are taught to push off now is a joke. As are the current block/charge rules (it's nearly impossible to draw a charge now). The complaining about camping out in the lane is mostly just sour grapes that we have Chinyelu and other teams don't.
